My earliest memory were the DBS vehicles on route 263. Despite the single door and no lower rear window I always enjoyed a trip from Archway to/from Barnet instead of the tube - and also used to seek out DBS14(?) on the 141. This may sound controversial but I saw them as better than their 'ancestral' Metrobuses.
With regard to the low floor versions, I preferred the DWs as opposed to the DLA (except the 03-regs on the 34.), not least the absence of the longitudinal seats downstairs. The DLP's weren't too bad as well, although I never had much experience on one that wasn't crowded.
I take it one has to head to the former Wandle and LCNW districts to find the remaining DAFs?

They are becoming a rare breed... Wood Green has one on a school route (though it may be Palmers Green's DW32), Edmonton has DWs 1 & 5 (wish they would put them on the 123 but they are reserved for Overground work - electrification work still not done), Watford has a few on the 258, and aside from Croydon there are no others in London. I think Southdown PSV bought a load of DLPs though I don't know where they operate, if that's Surrey or Sussex After Grand Theft Auto - Watford Streets when some berk stole DLA619 from Watford Junction and joy rode it, all the DLAs disappeared and they had not long been AdBlue'd which was a shame

I think they are used mostly on the 357 and 409 in Surrey. They used to have a few of the ex-route 60 T-reg DLPs but these seem to have gone now. About time too - last time I saw one on a school route in Redhill, it sounded rough as hell, and when it moved off it left a huge cloud of black smoke behind it. Wood Green don't have any 1st-gen DWs - just the one at Palmers Green as you say. Croydon is definitely the best bet for DB250 action these days. Glad I got a few rides on DW1 when the LO-J was running!

I guess thats why it was marked as accident for a few months on lvf before being marked as withdrawn on lvf, such a shame, that was a decent bus. Although the SWs that replaced them are pretty nice too, must admit.
