youtu.be/WlbEanDZHwwSo the first 1996TS to be refurbished has emerged, and for me it's a bit of a let down. I really had high hopes after how well the turned around the 1995TS a few years back, but this time they seem to have not being trying very hard. This sort of new grey theme to represent the Jubilee line just doesn't seem as inviting as how the interiors previously were, and coupled with the grey handlebars, the inside just looks a bit drab and dull. Additionally, they haven't removed of the inside door buttons - I was hoping that they'd follow suit on what the 2009TS was given with the door blinkers like they did when the 1995TS was done. If they could've plated the outside buttons then I don't see why they couldn't remove of them on the inside. But on the plus side, the new wheelchair areas are looking good and the new floors and lighting make the interior a bit brighter. As well as theat, I'm glad that the blue panels by the doors have been changed to white ones as they really started to look old and out of fashion. But overall I'm not that happy. Thoughts anyone?

I noticed this on Saturday - I thought with the grey poles it was unfinished!
I agree it does look rather dull.

I noticed the refurbished 96 stock on the Jubilee Line yesterday. Initially, for a split second I thought I was on the Northern Line then I actually realised it has been refurbished. I rather like the new look, it has a 'cleaner' and more neat look compared to the previous turquoise/yellow colour scheme. It's quite reminiscent of the brilliant interior in the Class 379 National Express trains.

I must say I do find this new look easier on the eyes in terms of colour coordination, plus it reminds me a bit of the interior in Abellio's Enviros, the ones still with the Travel London seats.

I prefer the new interior simply for handrails that match the lines colour on maps.

Much better. I hated the Jubilee line interior with a passion. Didn't like the way the aqua and yellow went with the white walls. Nor did it go with any of the seat moquette. They couldn't change it any sooner, HIP HIP HOORAY!!!! Also at least we would get some kind of theme with the train line with grey coloured poles.
The Northern line interior looked much better than the Jubilee line, previously.

I take back what I said above, in person this has to be one of the best tube refurbishments in a long time. The interiors are clean, bright and modern. Having got an unrefurbished one after it felt like stepping back into the past. A job well done is all I can say

On the first few sets the window surrounds and doors were painted grey, but I found a later set where those had been painted white, which annoyed me as I preferred the grey

It's been reported[1] that bonnet 96037 on the Jubilee Line has a new gearbox[2] due to an issue with it's original. Just wondered if there's anybody that's more 'Jubilee line-savvy' that can confirm it one way or another.... or whether anybody actually witness the noise on any of the line's stock, 96037 or otherwise. [1] - youtu.be/U4obVX667nc[2] - or whatever the train terminology is

Would like to sample this thing underground EDIT: Listening closely that clip does sound a bit... spliced together. When the train's left the platform you can still hear background noise that sounds like the person filming is actually on a Networker. I'm not too sure now.

This is what led me to the query on whether it's genuine or somebody doing an edit, especially where somebody in the comments section reckons it's a fake. Is there a London Underground version of LVF where one could track it down? Unfortunately I only really use the Jubilee Line if I am travelling to the O2, which is to say a handful of times at the most per year.

Shame, I preferred these, gave the Jubilee character. Alas, it’s just too ‘plain’ now and will look dirty in no time, save for monumental cleaning efforts

Shame, I preferred these, gave the Jubilee character. Alas, it’s just too ‘plain’ now and will look dirty in no time, save for monumental cleaning efforts Agree, to be honest if it was up to me I would just give a deep clean and tidy up to their original spec, that looked modern/was functional enough and no need for changes - though to put in perspective the 1996TS introduction was at a time where 1959/72MK1 were used on the Northern, unrefurbed 73's were still going on the Picc and 83's on the Jubilee (and their interior design didn't stand time well at all).......if you can remember the 1996 introduction they'll always feel new in that context. Thought to myself on Christmas Eve it was a milestone, first 1996 in service was on the 'old' Jubilee line, Christmas Eve 1997, hats off to 20 years EDIT: For that matter, unrefurbed A60's were still going too, I know there's a big soft spot from many concerning the A stock but the original versions were in a right mess by that stage......
