Busy Day in Beijing, more photos coming to Sid soon, if you ever in Beijing go to Shiui Station (Batong Line, Line 1) and follow the signs for the bus station, wow it's big, so big, inside you have over 200 coaches parked up, around 500 buses, so so big, this is a bus station not a garage. Most bus garages only consist of about 20 buses in at the end of route terminus. In China I can't use social media so I can't see no pictures being posted, the only social media we use is a app WeChat, this is great, I never carry money with me, I use my phone for everything, if anyone on WeChat (can download from uk) let me know and I can send you videos and pictures time to time, but I need to say thank you to Sid, it is definitely a worldwide family here!!!
Cold day in Beijing, wet and miserable, reminds me of London!! I have sent Sid some more photos, hopefully in the weekend I will get to the city center where I can photo the overhead electric buses and king long decker tri-axles
I had a interesting day, I went to Ikea in Beijing and had meatballs and mash potato, so happy!
Furthermore I met a lost tourist in my area and that is strange because where I live you will see no tourist or expats, as they say in Little Britain, 'I am the only gay in the village, (I M not gay!) more like (I am the only foreigner in the village)!
I did a risky thing today I caught one of the green buses (route 806) from Tonghzhou, I have worked out to get to the city buses 668/669 takes you there limited stop (via the motorway) 666 stops everywhere don't take, however I have seen this bus in Guomao before so I just jumped on, I had time to spare, but if I was wrong or went in the wrong direction I could ended up 100km away in the wrong direction. (Guomao-Tonghzhou-Tianjin). It doesn't help the bus on both directions stop at the same stop in Tonghzhou! It worked out fine and the cost with my travel card for a 25km journey 1.5rmb about 18p!!
When I arrived at Guomao my phone was playing up, battery went low and camera was not working properly, took a few quick snaps then caught Line 10 and walked to ikea.
The bus is faster than the subway to the city providing there is no accidents on the motorway!!
I know this maybe a controversial question, but in looking at other post in regards to Tri-Axles Enviro 500, I don't think these are good buses, I have been on them a few times in Hong Kong, yes they are equipped with Wifi and leather seats, but these are just feels a bigger version of a drab Enviro 400, they are soulless in my view. On being on a king long and Futon Tri-axles in Beijing I feel these are better, faster, more refined and have character, what does others think?
I can't open up the links which Sid posted as here it bans all social media, please let me know if you are still interested on posting buses and stories of buses in China...
I found the rarest of the rare today! I am still in shock 10626847 on route 20, from Beiyuan Subway Station (Line 13) to ? This route I see everyday and sometimes catch to my work , (work is 2 stops away), the bus normally is either king long tri-axle or ocassioybendy bus, but no today a 12 seater bus turned up!! unfortunately I was on my mobike today so I couldn't catch but I have got a picture and will email to Sid. A bus is better than no bus argument? I don't think so on this case..
