Not condoning what he done as we have no idea what started it but lets be honest we've all felt like it especially working with the public can be a right pain seem to think they can talk to you like 💩 and treat you like it too because your in uniform suppose some of us just blow , but no in reality you shouldn't work with the public if you can't stand them or blow under pressure .

I haven't watched this specific clip. On your general point then I'd say we all have a breaking point - even the calmest, nicest most serene person you can imagine. I've done a customer facing role plenty of times but have only had one "blow up". I was much younger but there was an incredibly rude, sneering and patronising customer who just kept making uncalled for remarks and comments. They made reference to my family life circumstances at the time and I'm afraid I snapped, not badly, but I had to walk away from serving them. They clearly had no idea what my family life was like but why try to get under someone's skin by talking about it. I would not say that one episode disqualified me from working with the public - the fact I've done umpteen further spells without incident despite being branded a scab by some old nutty woman at Turnpike Lane perhaps proves the point that people can move on. I accept bus driving is a different activity but not everyone should be condemned in the face of provocation. It's like First Group sacking the tram drivers on Tramlink who have allegedly fallen asleep while driving while not bothering to review the working practices, shift patterns and overtime working they themselves impose on the workforce. You are treating the symptom and not the cause. A fair process would ensure the entire circumstances are investigated so the person is treated properly - they may still be at fault for whatever reason but ensure everything of relevance is investigated. Let's hope this bus driver gets a fair hearing.

That's what I like to know - until that's known, I'll refrain from commenting on it.

Let's hope this bus driver gets a fair hearing. Have any Tramlink drivers been sacked for falling asleep? As I understand it one driver was suspended following some footage being put on social media? What else were First supposed to do, if he had continued working and fallen asleep again then First would be getting the blame. Unless there are large numbers of Tramlink drivers falling asleep, and that doesn't appear to be the case, then it is unlikely that any working practices are too blame.

It's unfortunate that these days such incidents are plastered over the internet before the full facts are known.
