Route 369 was completely unchanged, running Ilford, Hainault Street to Thames View Estate from birth in 1993 to death in 2010. However its successor EL1 has gone substantial change in its 7 years of existence.

Bus 113 comes to mind as having been quite stable, Edgware - Oxford Circus since about 1940 except for the period when it was cut back to marble Arch. Nearly. It used to run in 2 overlapping sections on Mon-Sat daytimes: Oxford Circus - Apex Corner and Brent Cross Shopping Centre - Edgware. This latter section was later replaced by an extension of route 186 from Edgware to Brent Cross. It has subsequently had a rerouting and route 113 resumed as a Daily service to Edgware. Route 113 also had a Saturday shopping hours service from Oxford Circus to Brent Cross.

Have routes 96, 492 and 428 seen much (if any) change bar their extensions for the opening of Bluewater? I don't think so The 96 used to have rush-hour extensions to Charlton until the late 1980s. The London Country 492 took a different route between Bexleyheath and Dartford before it was absorbed into the London network when the ill-fated Bexleybus started. Cool, thank you

325 has only had a few minor variations on the A406 / through the Newham Council Depot.

You are right, but in the evenings (and peak hours I seem to remember) there was a through service between Edgware and Oxford Circus. The official route was always described as Edgware - Oxford Circus as I recollect even when some buses terminated at Brent Cross. I always thought in the late 1970s it was quite amusing to have every other bus from Edgware terminating at Brent Cross, and every other bus from Oxford Circus also terminating at Brent Cross. The other alternate buses were through buses between Edgware and Oxford Circus. This scheduling meant that buses started at Brent Cross going to both Edgware and Oxford Circus. I thought this was actually quite a good arrangement as it served Brent Cross shopping centre well whilst still providing a through service.
I also forgot the period in the in the first half of the 1970s when the service was withdrawn between Swiss Cottage and Oxford Circus on Sundays.

Strictly speaking off the top of my head (hence any inaccuracies) the 57 and 200 have had relatively minor changes over the last forty years. The 57 before it's current Clapham Park terminus used to finish at Streatham Hill: Telford Avenue whereas the 200 was Raynes Park to Mitcham until the early 80s when it's Mitcham end got rerouted at the Cricketers for a brief extension to Wallington, this being prior to the introduction of the present 127. The 200 then reverted back to Mitcham Fair Green for a while before a different extension to Clapham Park*....then very briefly rerouted to Tulse Hill. Shortly afterwards the 201 was introduced, the 200 once again reverting back to Mitcham Fair Green.
Bus routes from my childhood years never run on Sundays.
* - when titled as Streatham Hill: Atkins Road

It certainly did run through in the evenings as I remember a cold Winter's evening ride on a RML on the full route. These lovely old timetables on Flickr show two iterations of the timetable that show you were both correct. www.flickr.com/photos/22640996@N07/7995294584/in/album-72157627963548959/www.flickr.com/photos/22640996@N07/7655277012/in/album-72157627963548959/

I can't think of many but the B16 I don't think that's had many changes. Except for the demolition of the Ferrier - but the general road layout remains the same? On the flip side, I can think of many routes that have seen extensive changes, the biggest of my local routes would be - the 229 used to run as a Sidcup only route up to Wren Road and back and now covers a large part of Bexley borough up to Thamesmead.

Obviously it doesn't span over years and years but it's a good reference resource for the early to mid 80s when things where starting to change a bit at London Buses. Interesting to see how the approach to running some services was being modified but some frequencies are astonishingly low compared to what we have today - especially in some suburban areas.

216 - Has been Kingston - Stanies for many years. Other than the Thorpe park extensions no other major route alterations
222 , other than the Sunday deviations via Stockley Park, has been the Hounslow to Uxbridge trunk route for years
267 - Other than the loss of the Hampton court section in early 90's , replaced trolley route 667

Re. 229 : Station Road, Sidcup, from the junction with Longlands Road to the junction with Main Road is the only bit of road that has been continuously 229 territory.

I vaguely recall Metrobuses from Norbiton covering that section. May be wrong!
