I completely agree with you the 218 will be carnege. I'm an occasional user of the 266, and when I recently got on an overcrowded bus at Hammersmith the driver shouted, and I quote; ''What are you all going to do in six weeks* time when the 266 is cancelled and you have a single decker instead.'' Forgetting that he is incorrect as there will the 306 too, its a ridiculous change. I'm a proponent of sending the 306 up Horn Lane and to Wembley, with the 440 cut to Central Middlesex Hospital. *This was when there were six weeks to go until the change And why on earth can’t the 306 use the same bus stop as the 218 to make it simpler?!?! The lower bus station has plenty of room now Hammersmith Bridge has closed so just have both routes pick up in the same place as the 266 does. It’s not rocket science lol it’s just so ridiculous 😂 Also the 218 will be running with smaller buses (ie SDs instead of DDs) and at 12 minutes compared to the 266’s 8 minutes. REALLY?!?!?!?!?!?! unfortunately it doesn't really work for the 306 to serve the same stop as the 218 as it would mean the 306 would have to go around the one way system just to get to the lower bus station.

Yes but frequencies don't make any sense. Where in the North Acton area is the restriction? What do you mean, the 218 will run every 10 mins on Mon-Sat daytimes and is only marginally more frequent then the 306 which will run every 12 mins on Mon-Sat daytimes, Also the frequency of the both routes isn't as confusing as any routes with a 11/13 mins frequency or any other odd frequencys of which is a increasing trend on many routes across London over the last few years.
I believe the 218 is every 12 minutes? That’s is what the consultation stated anyway unless plans have changed since then EDIT: sorry it is every 10. In my defence there is an error in the consultation where at one point it does say the 218 will be every 12 lol2nd EDIT: this is where I saw it, and has thrown a huge spanner in the works if true consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/elizabeth-line/user_uploads/elizabeth-line-bus-changes-consultation-report.pdfPage 5 of 111. It says the 218 will be every 12min instead of every 10min. God hope that’s not correct😬

The problem really is the mismatched demand created by the bolted together 218. For West Acton, 6bph is a pretty generous frequency and sufficient but then between Acton and Hammersmith, 6bph is poor as you really need a frequent service along there, even more so when running a service with single deckers.

Even worse if you look at the link in the other post I put in, directly above your post, the consultation report suggests the 218 has been reviewed and will in fact be every 12, so 5bph😱

I always thought that the route with the double deckers would be more frequent.

One idea I do have for the 218/306 may seem a little odd but here goes. At Acton Vale, this is a busy bus stop served by the 207, 266, and 607. The 306 will not serve this stop as its stand is just a bit further on in the crescent here this means that the busiest stop at Acton Vale will not be served by the 306 but instead by the, what will be ludicrously overcrowded, 218 which does not help matters. One idea I have is for the 218 to serve the 306 stop/stand so that there is a common stop for Hammersmith. This better spreads out loadings between the 218 and 306. It also prevents everyone from jumping on the 218 which will be carnege as previously established. A loss of flexibility and choice is one flaw of my proposal to segregate stops for White City and Hammersmith as someone who may happily go to either to change for their desired onward travel (to a destination which can be reached from either) lose the ability to chose.

With only a few days to go surprised the 391 doesn't have an Ibus message saying the route will be cut.

With only a few days to go surprised the 391 doesn't have an Ibus message saying the route will be cut. TfL Bus Management seems to have collapsed on gone astray The old adage of couldn't organise a P1ss up in a brewery seems appropriate There is no map of the changes available (with just 4 days to go) Other examples : Seem to have forgotten to issue LSP as 2nd December version missing Latest London Service Permit TfL tender page has September contract extensions, which doesn't include ITTs from this week Latest Tender extension document The temporary bus changes page has entries referring to end dates in August and September, but still displayed Link to current temporary bus changes webpage
