I am believer that DD conversions do bring in more custom eventually and I'm sure that's the case with the 178 and 291.

Strange that the 178 and 291 got double deckers and have a lot of empty seats whilst the 244 didn't and is very well loaded at peak times. Not from local reports I’ve heard. I live locally and have seen 244s run past my stop in the morning because they are full.

Buses are well loaded now. They didn’t delay the conversion. It was stated in the Consultation report that the 244 will not be double decked at the moment and will monitor it in future. Overall I do agree the 244 should run with double deckers as it is very busy.

South East London is quite lucky in fairness recently - two double decker conversions plus two brand new routes and then the future extension of the 225 to Bellingham compared to South & South West London who have seen mainly cuts with improvements primarily restricted to Croydon. Bus dependent inner London boroughs like Lambeth continue to get a raw deal

Bus dependent inner London boroughs like Lambeth continue to get a raw deal Southwark is an inner S.E. London borough, though, and I wouldn't say they've received much bounty either. Greenwich and Bexley are different because of the huge housebuilding programme and the impact that Crossrail will eventually make should it ever open. In the meantime the Bakerloo Line extension is as far away as ever, and I shan't live to see it even if I lived to 100.

Lewisham Council had made a document on showing three different options for proposed routeing and was approved by TFL, so it probably be subject to consultation in the future but we just don't know when

Any idea on when the butchering of the 180 starts? Or has that been put on the back burner?
