My favourite current bus is, wait for it, the New Routemaster. And no, I'm not a Tory voter or BoJo fan! I just love the design and the "original RM" inspired looks.
Fav single decker would be the E200MMC. Fully agree with vjaska that it's a marked improvement on the non-MMC.
The only buses I dislike are those that are in some way uncomfortable to ride on. So that's the Scandia Omnicity and sadly GAL's MHV.
Favourite oldies include London Country's RP, AF and AN from the 70s, the RF, and of course the original RM in its many guises.

Sentimental:
MCW Metrobus, by a country mile - every bus sang its own song, whether limping up the final stretch of Muswell Hill on the W7 at 6mph, or careering up the A10 on the 217.
The ex-KB Olympians latterly on the 176 and 253 had a lot of character, even if in their final years the saloon environment left a lot to be desired. They seemed to be permanently thrashed on whatever route, at whatever time of day - they also had the ability to move off while the front doors were still being activated for an added sense of urgency. I never had quite the same fondness for the Leaside Alexander-bodied Olympians native to the 253 - they were good buses and lasted well beyond their TfL days but felt a bit characterless.
Voith/D10-A Volvo Olympians (any body). Whether on the 103 in Cambridge, the 67 from Wood Green to Aldgate or the 67 from Winchester to Petersfield. The ZF-geared examples common in many fleets didn't have the same quality for me, though some were very light on their feet.
The uprated Connex/TL/Abellio V-KGW Euro II ZF Dennis Tridents. The last class of vehicle to leave London that I've really missed. And those saloon clocks felt like the future long before iBus made an appearance!
