Get on the 33 at Fulwell Station, get off at Princes Road, then run down Shacklegate Lane to Waldergrave road, and you should make the same bus. A bit of a waste of time though.

I have done this a few times with buses that go into a station like Walthamstow Central and Stratford. I would get off, pop into a shop, buy something, get to the next stop after the station and get back on it. Usually with no issues.
I know that I can get off a 69 towards WC at Paul Street (before Stratford Broadway) and walk all the way to Leyton Drapers Field and catch the same 69. You walk through Stratford Centre by which point your already ahead of the 69 which is loading at Stratford Station. You go along Angel Road to Drapers Field via the 158 and you would beat the 69 while it goes the long way round via Leytonstone High Road. I walked this route many times and beat the 69's all the time. However, for obvious reason I have not physically got off the 69 to get back on it as there's no benefit to doing that.
I guess this topic is similar to missing a bus and catching it further down its route. A few weeks ago, I had a 425 shut the door on my face at the first stop at Stratford Station even though I was running towards the bus front on and I was the only one in a quiet period at Stratford. He drove off. Obviously, I walked towards Stratford High Street and waited for the bus to come around the gyratory. The driver was very sheepish, trying to avoid contact with me as I entered the bus. Gave him a very loud sarcastic Thank You.

Funnily enough I've just seen someone do this. Travelling on a 254 (making the most of the last few DWs on the route) I noticed a CT Plus driver get on. "I bet he's off to Ash Grove" I thought to myself - only to see him get off at Stamford Hill. We were then held at Clapton for the dreaded headway regulation, during which time a 253 whizzed past. On arrival at Hackney Central, you can guess who I saw jumping off said 253 and back onto my 254! I guess he'd decided to pop into a shop before resuming his journey. Judging by the look on his face he was pretty surprised to find that he was saying hello to the same driver again... Just goes to show that with today's slack schedules you can end up back on the same bus on pretty much any high-frequency route

You can do this on the 70 at Kensal House as it does the Sainsbury's loop and you can also get off at Queensway, walk through Hyde Park and meet the same bus a few stops after Kensington Palace.

It is possible to alight an N550 at All Saints Church or Burdett Road, walk down the East India Dock Road and have time to spare before the bus has finished it's grand tour of the Isle of Dogs. You do have to be relatively brisk on your feet though.

Remember once being on a U3 coming out of the Airport, got to the Hatch Lane stop and a woman jumps off and onto the 350 that pulled up behind, whatever she had planned didn't work out, as when my U3 pulled up at West Drayton Stn, she jumped back on....... got a few weird looks in the process too!

303 - get off Lyndhurst Avenue and re-board in Bunns Lane (or vice versa)
292 - get off Edgware stop H and re-board at stop B whilst it faffs around in the station (and possibly 186 too - further to walk between stops but drivers often change in station)
302 (towards Kensal Rise) - due to bus stops being moved over the years with two ending up so close together you could get off at Stop Y in Deansbrook Road and walk round the corner to immediately re-alight at stop M since walking will usually beat the cars waiting at the round about.

If you pretty quick, it's possible to alight a Patmore Estate bound P5 on Coldharbour Lane and move yourself quickly to the Lambeth Town Hall bus stop on Acre Lane whilst it has to wait at the lights on Coldharbour Lane and then meander around the one way system in which it can caught by three different sets of lights. Also possible with 35's & 355's towards Clapham Junction & Mitcham depending on your speed as well as how long the bus is at the Brixton Station bus stop.
It's also just about possible to alight a 345 in either direction at Brixton Academy or Brixton Police Station and then walk to Brixton Academy or Brixton Police Station to pick it up again as the lights there are not in favour of the 345 plus both stops can be incredibly busy.

On the 425 (towards Clapton), get off at Morning Lane then rejoin the bus at the City Academy.
Or if going towards Stratford, get off at Fenn Street and walk back to Homerton High Street

Ok maybe this is a bit far fetched but I once got off the S4 at Belmont, took the train to Wallington but then ended up getting the exact same bus from there. In hindsight it was probably more sensible to just stay on the bus

124 board at Catford towards Eltham and get off at Sandhurst Road / St Andrew's Church and wait for a 160 and get off at Newmarket Green and catch the same 124. 160 board at Sidcup Station towards Catford Bridge get off at Sidcup High Street catch the 321 to New Eltham and can end up getting the same 160. Could also do the same taking it as far as Chislehurst War Memorial and catch a 161 to Eltham. 181 board at Grove Park towards Lewisham Station get off at Green Man Community Hub and get any bus down the A21 and get off at Bromley Road / Lewisham Town Hall and board the same 181 again at Catford Road / Lewisham Town Hall. 284 board at Lewisham Station get off at Morley Road get any bus down the A21 and can get the same 284 at Catford Road / Lewisham Town Hall. 336 board at Locksbottom get off at Bromley South get on a 208 or 320 and get off at Southend Lane and could end up getting the same 336.

What about route 424? There are many possibilities!!! I think this route would be the easiest to re catch due to its oddball routing... (Towards Craven Cottage)
Get of at Putney Bridge:
Bus 22 to Kings Road to rejoin at Dawes Road misses Sands End same bus
Bus 14 or 414 to Munster Road to miss Sands End and Fulham Broadway
Or
Bus 74, 430, 220 to Fulham Palace Road/Lillie Road miss Kings Road, Sands End, Fulham Broadway, Munster Road
And from Putney Heath the options are endless
Or just walk from Putney Bridge south side to Craven Cottage through the park you will beat the bus any day this is the most oddball route.
Is this the best example of a route with the most possible options to be on the same bus?

In New Addington you could see a 64 leave the Vulcan Way terminus and then walk down to Goldcrest Way and catch it. Or you could get off a 130 at the first stop in Fieldway and walk up to Headley Drive and rejoin it.
