Some Kennington loop trains will be extended to Battersea, new timetable from ‘September’ should see 31tph to Morden. Maybe the time the trains currently wait in the tunnel at Kennington will be used to get to Battersea but I still think some trains will have to come from somewhere. Perhaps a few High Barnet trains will be cut to Finchley Central and maybe a handful of Colindale trains rather then Edgware aswell. The new schedules could involve tweaking up the average speed of trains throughout the line, which should then help incorporate the Battersea Branch using present resources.

Trial running is planned to start in July 2021 and the opening is pencilled in for September - it may be a "soft launch".

In prep for the opening of the NLE in September 2021 (mentioned in the above post) Kennington, presently a zone 2 stop, becomes a zone 1 and 2 station from this Sunday May 16th.

Kennington will change from being a Zone 2 station to a Boundary Zones 1 & 2 station, effective from this Sunday 16th May.
This is connected with a condition in the funding agreement for the Battersea Extension, which requires that passengers travelling from Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms into Central London are only charged a Zone 1 fare.
EDIT: Beaten to it! ^^^

The final stage of trial running and staff training has commenced on the Northern Line extension. A new interim Northern Line timetable will commence in the Autumn (September is the target). As well as up to six trains an hour over the extension there will also be through trains to Mill Hill East for most of the day, and some extra morning peak trains on the Morden branch. The full timetable, featuring up to 12 trains per hour over the new extension, will be introduced during 2022. Meanwhile, back on the existing Northern Line - TfL has issued a Press Release as the Bank Station Upgrade nears its conclusion. The final stage of the project will see the Bank Branch closed between Moorgate and Kennington for 17 weeks from 15th January to mid-May 2022, and there will be a number of weekend closures prior to this. During the closure an enhanced service will operate on the Charing Cross Branch, and a special bus route (733?) will operate between Oval and Bank. When the work is complete, the Northern Line will have direct access from Cannon Street via a new entrance, a new southbound platform and a much-increased circulating area between the Norther Line platforms. The Northern Line at Bank will have step-free access and there will be improved connections to the Central Line via two moving walkways. There will also be additional connections to the DLR. tfl-newsroom.prgloo.com/news/tfl-press-release-tfl-updates-on-progress-of-upgrade-at-bank-station-as-it-nears-completion

I noticed how run down the corridors / escalators are between the DLR and Central Line on Saturday. Or will these sections close once the new parts open?

The frequencies have been released for the Battersea extension of 6 tph in the peaks and 5 tph off peak. These will double by mid 2022. Based on that then around half the off peak trains will still terminate at Kennington and hopefully the 4 tph in the peaks will still operate to Morden via Charing Cross.
Later in the year, Mill Hill East gets a direct service again at most times. Not sure if they run via only one of the branches or alternate via would Bank or Charing Cross.
