The really surprising aspect is that the operation of the M1 route is a sub contract from First Bus. Makes me wonder why First Bus have gone down this route.

Being Bristol, I would expect much will be made of 21 bio-gas fuelled buses forming the allocation, and it could be First choosing to be one remove away from responsibility for keeping them all on the road? Mere speculation on my part, though. Also,given First's dominance in Bristol, it just might be seen as politic that one of the three routes wasn't actually operated by them directly.
