And make UK Bus a separate company ... with future growth concentrated in N America

Why? How many variants of a bus livery are there in the world? Did he sue Travel de Courcey for using Brighton & Hove’s livery? Did Lothian sue YourBus for copying their livery?
My take ... it’s very smart and stands out from the other operators in Manchester.

We know there can't be thousands of major differences between all the tunes, it's the minor variations, the tone if you like, that can make all the difference. Best Impressions have certainly got a very recognisable house style - whether that's always been the case I wouldn't know: maybe it has evolved over time. The 'plagiarism' tag was said tongue-in-cheek: an alternative interpretation is that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

New livery for Go North West.
Will Best Impressions sue for plagiarism?! Still using the First fleet numbers by the looks of things and a very smart livery let's hope they can make a decent profit and turn things around a bit .

Can't say I'm overly keen - to my eyes it looks a bit drab and somewhat dated.

If First do sell up their bus operations then I hope Leeds and Huddersfield get sold to either Go-Ahead or Arriva. They are the dominant bus operator however in West Yorkshire so I'm rather surprised to hear that they're looking to sell up altogether.
Having said that though they don't invest too much in their existing fleet of buses, as most of them in Huddersfield have never received an internal refurbishment, and the Volvo B7TL's on my route in Huddersfield are in a poor condition. The seats are rock hard (possibly worse than the Ciclo seats Arriva have on their fleet) and one of them (30952) has possibly the loudest turbo whine I've ever heard, so much louder than the one Metrobus 192 has. It comes as no surprise that I won't particularly miss them when I no longer have to use them next year

It's not a surprise at all that they are selling up. Their press release states that their core business is now the US, as FirstStudent and FirstTransit are the areas 'which have the greatest potential to generate sustainable value and growth over time'. The UK bus market is too volatile and in decline - the profits margins that operators once had have gone, and so have their passengers. You could argue of course that one is linked to the other - overly high profit margins meant too-high fares, less investment in equipment which in turn led to a loss of its customer base.

The board change has been one of their stated aims for a long time. Given their current predicament, you can hardly say they are wrong .... whether the people they are proposing to the board are all the correct people ... well that is another issue.

The Sunday Times last weekend included a feature on First and their plans to divest FirstBus UK. It made it sound more likely to be to multiple purchasers than to a single purchaser.
