youtu.be/CtSRv-LV2eUA ride onboard one of TfL Rail's shiny new trains from Hayes and Harlington to Paddington! TfL took over Heathrow Connect on the 20th May giving passengers the opportunity, for the first time, to travel from Paddington to Heathrow Airport with oyster or contactless payment cards! Class 360 trains still run on the route, with those trains doing the full journey, whereas, at the moment, Class 345 trains are only running between Paddington and Hayes and Harlington, with 2 units currently in service. Enjoy the video!

I went to Heathrow on TfL Rail last night to use the new Hayes-Airport section which is now valid for use by TfL fares. Bye Bye £6.30 Connect surcharge! Ticket barriers are now installed at Heathrow. If you wish to use the HEX Free Shuttle service to T4 and T5 you are issued with an Inter-Terminal Transfer ticket. Would be rude not to have a ride on the PODs whilst there, too!

I'm yet to visit Heathrow with TfL Rail!! Thanks for the photo too! I always go on the pods when I visit, they are super fun!

Should take some pressure off the Piccadilly Line now that there is no extortionate surcharge.

Should take some pressure off the Piccadilly Line now that there is no extortionate surcharge. But there is an extortionate surcharge if you are making a single trip! Fares only 10p cheaper in the peak than they were with Connect. The only difference is that fares are included within the daily cap so if you've made other journeys that day or are making a return trip from Zone 1 then you're OK. If you live in West London and don't travel via Zone 1 then even a return trip to the airport may not trigger the daily cap. It is an improvement over what went before but it is certainly not as cheap as the Picc Line for people making a single trip to or from the airport as many visitors / those take a trip on a plane will do.

True. I was quite surprised that they included the new service in the daily cap. What is the cap amount? Should take some pressure off the Piccadilly Line now that there is no extortionate surcharge. True. I was quite surprised that they included the new service in the daily cap. What is the cap amount? £12.50 on Oyster / Contactless for Adults. (Zones 1-6). The paper one day Travelcard is £12.70 and is also valid.

Yes I see what you mean, I'd be making other journeys as well or have a Travelcard
