Looks like Siemens have won the contract for the Deep Tube Upgrade rolling stock - starting with the Picc Line. I bet that's going to cause a political storm - maybe not. The trains are going to be built in Goole in Humberside apparently. EDIT - TfL press release

"Each new train will be six metres longer than the existing Piccadilly line trains"
I can think of a fair few underground stations that will require SDO ... Earl's Court amongst a couple more cannot even berth a full 6 car 73 cab to cab.

I shall plead the ignorance of youth for not knowing that! ;-) Knowing the Picc well enough I can envisage plenty of teething problems especially with any signalling upgrades.
Also wonder if this is when we see the Picc/District segregation regarding Ealing Broadway.

The 73 stock almost certainly will be around for their 50th birthday not all but as the stock has to be replaced 1 in 1 out plus the time it will take to train depot staff/train operators

I agree they should, after all it would be a shame since they already have many Bombardier stock running, which seems to be going well.
