As touched on in other threads, iBus is quite a testament to the vocal talents of Emma Hignett really - it's all done quite cleverly and keeps the attention span going in a lot of people (more regular types as opposed to enthusiasts you understand).... I agree with posts in the other threads the rather terse way she announces 'Barking' on routes that terminate there is notable. The first iBus route I heard was the 93 as I lived in North Cheam at the time (was the 93 one of the very first? I moved from there in 2010 and the announcements were quite established then - so I'm guessing late 2008/early 2009 was the introduction?). The cheery way she seemed to say "Putney Bridge" was quite contrasting to the more gloomy sounding "North Cheam". The way she announces places seems clever and also in touch with popular perceptions of an area. Until now I had thought that was my own view and a bit of a personal (quirky) way of thinking, but reading posts on here it may seem not so! She seems more serious and curt when announcing a curtailment - again something which I'm now thinking is deliberate. When using the 122 regularly there was a definite difference between "122 to Crystal Palace" and the more serious and business like "122 to Forest Hill" (or Sydenham). Seemed to convey the gravity of the annoyance from people like me who wanted to do the whole route and get to the darts on time My favourite announcements aren't really due to the spoken word, more a reminder of times that I'll remember well, "177 to Peckham" and "177 to Thamesmead" will always be up there, the classic though after a night at the arrows is "122 to Plumstead Bus Garage" going along the deserted streets through Lee Green and Westhorne Avenue looking forward to a number 4* at DFC Chicken in Plumstead High Street after a long night out with good friends..... * - number 4, two pieces chicken, two wings, chips and drink for £3.30 - I often waived the drink to get a couple of extra wings (it was nearly closing time by then so suited them too) but to keep in culture with the area if I kept the drink I went for a strawberry Mirinda. If I fell asleep too quickly though after that I'd wake up the next day with red teeth

X26 to Heathrow Central or the old West Croydon announcement. Don't know how she says X26 in such a way. Also the 'Sutton Post Office, Alight here for Sutton Town Centre, Sutton Station, and local bus services'
Heathrow Central Bus Station is a good one at 5 in the morning.
'High Street'
Hampton Court Green/Cardinal Walsey is always one I listen out to
Then there is the Orpington Hospital announcement
Shacklegate Lane- she says it with such urgency plus I know I am so very almost home after a long day
'243 to Wood Green' always reminds me of the DLA's/VLW's that plyed the route during the 2000's
'The Musical Museum' played through the loudspeaker of an SLE
Any announcement played through a Citaro loudspeaker- I do not know what causes this effect, but I like it.
Now on the IBUS CD I got through a FOI request a few years ago there are a few oddies on it.
'Reading' 'Ongar' 'Epping St Margerts Hospital' (!) 'West Byfleet' Wales Avenue/Windsor Castle'
A few odd numbers/former London Country routes as well, '402' '431' '441/2' '461' '456/7/8' '477' 'E15/16'

Hoe Steet/The Bell I'm just immature When did they add "I'm just immature" to the message? (Rushes out to catch a 97 bus)

The "Horse Leaze" stop in Beckton did sound rather like two other words the first time I heard it announced on a 101 - I did a double take!
On a 253 into town we get a very cheery "Sobell Centre!" and a very stern "MURRAY STREET".
I think some variation is to be expected given the sheer number of announcements that had to be recorded. Personally, even if I'd been paid to record them by the word, I'd probably sound pretty chipper for the first 1,000 stop announcements and pretty done in for the last 1,000..
