Will the 440 still extend to Wembley on the 25th May (when the new contract starts) even though TFL haven't confirmed the actual for the 224/440 changes?
The new stand that's due to be built on First Way hasn't been done yet and the new contract starts in 2 Saturdays time but we will see what happens over the next 2 weeks

Surely the 245 is lengthy enough without an extension to Perivale? PV garage is very close to the 245's terminus at Alperton, hence why the 245 (and previously 79) were chosen to run from there. The original poster talked about extending the 245 - having rode a 245 end to end, I know how long one takes without adding a further section on in service. There was no mention of garage allocation at all.

The 245 could run dead to PV to stand Some already do that I believe? Wouldn't surprise me if so. Every time I'm at Alperton Sainsbury's there is a 245 standing at its first stop such are the stand issues. Ideally all 245s would stand in PV to facilitate the 224 standing at the Sainsbury's when the cut does go ahead

Maybe The 245 can be extended to Greenford Broadway via the 297

Maybe The 245 can be extended to Greenford Broadway via the 297 It’s no viable at all as it would make the 245 way too long.

Route 440 has seen a visible drop in patronage following the rerouting away from Bollo Lane and Chiswick Park Station.
Congestion caused by closure of Hammersmith Bridge means buses get stuck in traffic queues heading north along Oxford Road North in the evening peak.
Some use is being made of the new link between Gunnersbury and Acton High Street but buses on route 440 do not serve the busy westbound bus stop outside Gunnersbury Station so same stop interchange with buses towards Brentford is not available.
Very few people using bus stops along Wellesley Road unlike when there was a through bus along the full length of Chiswick High Road to Hammersmith on route H91. You can walk to Turnham Green Church quicker than waiting for a bus.
The increased frequency on London Overground between Richmond and Stratford which would have resulted in longer waits at the level crossing barriers in Bollo Lane and was the reason for the rerouting has not happened due to delays with new rolling stock.

Taking the 440 away from residents who acutally relied on it and putting it through a business park which is quieter than Christmas Mass was a bad idea. The Wellesley Road section now seems a little awkward a detour for the 440 to serve given Wellesley Road is directly behind Gunnersbury Station. Having a bus going through the business park makes it less of a waste than a bus carting fresh air to its terminus as the 27 and 70 did/do. I think Geoff Hobbs' argument that the 440 change linked Crossrail to the Business Park was so weak when it'd be faster and probably more convinient to get Crossrail to Ealing Broadway then the District Line to Chiswick Park. The level crossing would hamper the 440 heavily though so I think sadly TFL had no choice but to take the 440 away from Bollo Lane but is sad people who needed a bus service do not have one anymore.

Now the 27 have being cut back I like to see extended to Archway Station or Muswell Hill Broadway but first withdrawn from Chalk Farm and Camden Town extended via Kentish Town, Tufnell Park/ Archway Station and Highgate Station for new links and extended the N27 at the same time

The 134 is adequate as a link between Archway/Muswell Hill and Warren Street. The 27 was a very long route in its previous form and whilst I didn't support cutting it back, I can see why it was done given the route has to battle with appalling congestion - mostly on the Euston Road. The 27 is fine in its current form which allows it to operate reliably even if it is a shadow of its former self

I don't even think LTs would be able to turn around at Muswell Hill

The 27 cut is still causing some confusion. I was getting the 27 home the other day and at both Hammersmith Bus Station and Kings Mall Shopping Centre numerous people asked the driver if he was going to Chiswick. Three months after the cut and yet people still don't realise the 27 has been withdrawn between Hammersmith and Chiswick. I blame TfL for the inadequate publicity about the change
