The last 122 of the season* has just passed my house - now the only open-top operation is the 95 in Exmouth, which finishes after next Sunday 3rd November.
One change not mentioned in my previous post - there are minor changes to the timetable for route 39 (Exeter-Bovey Tracey-Newton Abbot) and the occasional journeys to/from Torquay no longer operate in service.
* The 17.35 Paignton Zoo-Babbacombe which reaches the terminus at 18.26 then returns light to Depot.

Plymouth CityBus has announced fares increases, effective from Sunday 3rd November. PCB has no compunction in blaming Brexit uncertainty as part of the reason, stating that the company has had to stockpile parts as the uncertainty has affected their supply chain. www.plymouthbus.co.uk/news-service-updates/fares-2019/The article makes mention of "eleven new low emission, low carbon certified buses" which will be on the road next month, presumably these are the ADL Enviro400 Citys. Four older 07-reg ADL Enviro200s have also transferred in recently from East Yorkshire, these will presumably replace the East Lancs-bodied Scania OmniTowns that were new originally to Thames Travel.

Why should I be punished for voting a certain way - what about the spineless MP's who voted against two deals and have now led us to having a election at Christmas?

It is the politicians that are failing to deliver the democratically decided decision to leave the EU that is causing the delay leading to the uncertainty ... It is 'mainly' remainers delaying things.

Why should I be punished for voting a certain way - what about the spineless MP's who voted against two deals and have now led us to having a election at Christmas? It was a tongue-in-cheek suggestion, which could never be implemented in any case, but it would be a salutary reminder that actions have consequences, whether intended or unintended. I agree with you that the whole process has been handled disgracefully by those in power, elected and unelected.

Some Plymouth news:
Plymouth CityBus are operating two special services for the Illuminate Light Festival, which takes place at Royal William Yard from Thursday 28th November to Sunday 1st December. This will be the opening event for the "Mayflower 400" celebrations which will take place in the city throughout 2020 to mark the departure of the Pilgrim Fathers four hundred years ago. There will be no car parking available at Royal William Yard.
The "Ocean City Sights" open-top service is being resurrected for the four days; open-top buses will depart Royal Parade (stop A8) at 16.00 then every 20 minutes, with the last bus back from Royal William Yard at 22.21.
Route 34A will operate from Milehouse Park & Ride at 16.10 then at 15-minute intervals; the return journey will operate via Royal Parade offering the opportunity to connect with the Ocean City Sights service. Last bus back from Royal William Yard to Milehouse will depart at 23.00.
Fares on either service are £2 return, or £5 for a family ticket. Tickets for both services will also be available for £3 (£7.50 family). ENCTS passes will be accepted for free travel.
============================================================================
From Monday 9th December through to Thursday 12th December the Plymouth-Gunnislake rail service will be suspended, this is to allow bridge repair work in the Ernesettle area and maintenance work at other locations along the line.
Due to the geography of the area and the local road network, rail replacement bus services will operate:
Plymouth - Gunnislake - Calstock Plymouth - Bere Alston - Bere Ferrers
Alternative train services will be provided at Devonport, Dockyard, Keyham and St Budeaux Ferry Road. St Budeaux Victoria Road will not be served as it is very close to Ferry Road.
There is no news yet on who will be operating the rail replacement bus services, nor if rail tickets will also be accepted on local bus routes

The new ADL Enviro400 Citys for Plymouth CityBus have started arriving at Milehouse Depot. In the meantime gas-powered Enviro400 City demonstrator DD18 GAS is also in Plymouth and was in use yesterday on the 42 group of routes between Royal Parade and Derriford Hospital. Plymouth already has refuelling facilities for its 12 gas-powered MAN saloons which were transferred in from Anglian Bus a couple of years ago.
=====================================================
A late report, but Stagecoach South West has given ADL Enviro400 19658 (WA60 FHP) a poppy wrap for Remembrance, It seems to spend most of its time on route 2 (Exeter-Newton Abbot). The rest of the SSW fleet is carrying poppy stickers.

It looks like Target Travel are losing their last remaining Devon County Council contract; from 17th February routes 49 (Plymouth - Heybrook Bay) and 94 (Plymouth - Noss Mayo) transfer to Tally-Ho! of Kingsbridge. The routes are operated jointly with a single vehicle. Tally-Ho! already operates the 875 from Bigbury-on-Sea into Plymouth, but this is just one return journey on a Friday.
This will leave Target Travel with just a couple of Plymouth School buses and the Football services for Plymouth Argyle home matches, and a small coaching operation.

Following the entry into service of the eleven new ADL Enviro400 Citys, Plymouth CityBus has now withdrawn the last remaining ex-Go-Ahead London Plaxton President-bodied Volvos, along with the last few East Lancs-bodied Tridents. The double-deck fleet is now entirely ADL Enviro400*, including 12 ex Go-Ahead London 06-registered examples of which two have been converted to part open-top. It is left to Stagecoach to provide double-deck variety in Plymouth, with ALX400-bodied Tridents and classic and MMC Enviro400s, including examples on Scania chassis on the Gold service from Torquay and the X38 from Exeter.
In the meantime the four ex-East Yorkshire E200s are being prepped for service and should appear in the New Year. They will likely replace the ex-Thames Travel Scania OmniTowns that have latterly been used on services 20/20A (Plympton/Ivybridge Estates).
* all either classic design or the new City design, there are no MMCs.

I gather that the ex-Brighton Trident - Plaxtons have also been withdrawn? I rode one on route 33 last year.

I gather that the ex-Brighton Trident - Plaxtons have also been withdrawn? I rode one on route 33 last year. Yes, they have also gone. Pity but they were quite old, and thank you for letting me know. I suddenly feel that my timing of a visit in May 2018, late enough for an E400-City on route 21 but early enough for such a Trident on route 33 was perfect. Have the former London route 37 E400s been refurbished with Plymouth moquette?
