With the new 68 registration plate starting 1st September, starting a thread to consolidate info
Some buses expected in the summer are delayed to Sept, but will they still get 18 plates ? Metroline electric buses and VMHs RATP various single decks and the ADHs and electric BEs Stagecoach remaining 110xx smart hybrids
Conversely some buses expected early eg RATP VHs, so may get 18reg instead of 68reg
I think White bus are aiming to put some 68reg buses into service on first day 1st September
Please post updates and further info

They’re already registered and licensed, but they’re just in store waiting entry into service due to some delays etc. It doesn’t matter if they’ve entered service or not by the time the next registration mark comes out, if they were registered and licensed before that they can’t be changed

The question is have they just been provisionally allocated registrations, or have they actually be registered and licensed Most people would not ‘activate’ the registration and start paying vehicle tax, if not intending to put them on road Plenty of examples where build delays led to cancelling a proposed reg, and getting new one instead.

White Bus have at least 2 68 reg MMC'S White Bus take on route 500 (Staines - Camberley) from 1st September, so it looks like they have arranged to have their registrations to start from that date and have the new plates out on day one. Presumably they were delivered on trade plates. Incidentally the 500 is an interesting route to ride. It goes through some heavily wooded and very affluent areas.

White Bus have at least 2 68 reg MMC'S According to lots 'Five new E20Ds with 68-marks are now with White Bus' As well as the 500, White Bus are also taking on Surrey CC contracted routes 48, 437, 462 and 463 on 1st September. LOTS also mentions that CT Plus' E20Ds for the takeover of the D6 on 15th September have been delivered and some may appear on the W13 before then. LOTS doesn't state if these are 18 or 68 registered.
