Ah, so the only 2 lines that are getting a full Class 710 conversion are the GOBLIN line and those out of Liverpool Street. The Watford line should fully convert to 710s. Original 710 order: - 30 for services to Chingford/Enfield/Cheshunt - 8 for Gospel Oak to Barking - 1 for Romford to Upminster - add on of 6 for Watford line Additional 710 order: - 1 further unit for Watford line - 2 for Barking Riverside extension - 6 5-car variants for capacity increase on the north/west london route The Clapham/Richmond-Stratford route will be the only line to be mixed operation of 378s and 710s. Is one still going to the Romford - Upminster line, I heard it was not happening which actually was quite annoying as I'd love to see Romford fully Aventra in future with the exception of the 745 which is a few trains on the Norwich route. Are there only 6 train that operate the Watford rote, I thought there were more?

I understand all units are built, but some went to storage. Due to a lack of space at Derby some may be stored elsewhere. Not sure how many have done their minimum fault free test mileage Last I heard (which may be out of date) : Use in multiple not yet permitted in service (effectively stopping all West Anglia units) The third rail De-icing equipment fitted to a few units isn't yet authorised There was a temporary lower max speed authorised (but not really needed for stopping services) Modifications to avoid idiots climbing on the roof need to be done

It appears at least one 710 is in service on the Watford line (told it is 710 263, but unconfirmed) Not sure how long it will take to fully convert the line Just to confirm, it was 263 that did the honours this morning of being the first 710 in service on the DC line.

Yes they would be able to share 710’s as they are Willesden based. The Liverpool Street units will be Ilford based

Won’t be happening, ever (well at least this design). Can’t go through the tunnel as it doesn’t have end doors. Best you get is the cast-offs from the North London line when their 5 car 710s go into service.

Currently abroad 710264 2D95 London Euston - Watford Junction, feels a much smoother ride in comparison to their bombardier relative 387’s I brought into Kings Cross this morning.
The units are much quieter and airy in comparison to the 378’s.

Train paths have been created for driver training of the 710s on West Anglia
This coming week will be pilot runs (I think it’s for instructors) Following week (commencing 20th) driver training proper starts
I understand will be up both double unit and 4car unit learning
First one likely to enter service late Feb, but introduction likely to be fairly slow until lots of drivers trained

That's good news. It looks like the Aventra blockade is clearing. Hopefully GA will get its hands on one of the 30 Class 720s built soon, the clock is ticking before the Desiros head to EMR.

I was onboard 710261 yesterday afternoon. I tried to leave the train at Willesden Junction, and for some reason the set of doors I was at failed to open. With the doors being quite spaced out on the 710s, myself and a good few other people had to run to another set of doors after realising no amount of button presses were going to open them!

I cannot remember the East London line, is there sections that it runs in separate tunnels.

Yes, you need the front door if you can’t get out the side onto the track/side emergency access. The original Brunel tunnels between Wapping and Rotherhithe are the problem, they’re separate.
