There are plans for Aldwych to be converted to two way operation.
It is not explicitly clear but it appears as though there is less bus stand capacity. It will be interesting to see which routes will need to be curtailed due to the road layout changes.

Haven't looked in detail yet to see for sure.

Whatever happens, I can 100000% guarantee one thing. Chaos during the conversion with more people deserting buses! As if the area was absolutely free flowing already.... Will we see the 15 / n15 “temporarily” cut back?

Depending on timing the work could coincide with works at Waterloo and Vauxhall and that really would screw traffic and buses over a very large area.

If they cut the 15 anymore they might as well add to the list of routes to withdraw

87 pulled back the other way with the 23 already being pulled out altogether. 13 already gone.

Here's a revolutionary idea. How about extending some of those Aldwych terminating routes?! The 9 to Liverpool Street, as a 'thank you' to RATP for playing ball on the 10/23 shambles (not that they would have been given a choice) and to provide the westish London link that will be lost with the 11 proposal, and how about the 6 to Holborn Circus via Chancery/New Fetter Lane, allowing a connection with (almost) the far end of Oxford Street from the soon-to-be- terminating 25. It'd be yet another totally unacceptable cutback if the 87 were to go, too. Better to extend it over the 91, and cut that back.

I suspect all the routes you mention and more will be cut back. 139 will probably also be cut back to its original terminus of Trafalgar Square. We only need to look at what is happening to Trafalgar Square bus routes during the current gas works to give an idea of what will happen.

Get rid of the 15, extend the 115 to bank. The 11 can take the rest given it overlaps with the 15 from mansion house onwards (“hopper” at bank with the new 115). They rest can walk 400/450/[pick a number] metres to the nearest bus stop (which might probably be faster anyway!)

Seems odd that the 172 is being cut to Aldwych when stand space might be an issue.

Seems odd that the 172 is being cut to Aldwych when stand space might be an issue. Furthermore, if route 171 continued to Aldwych route 172 could potentially be redundant.

I think it's mroe likely the 172 could run to Bellingham and the 171 axed. That would break a link from Walworth to New Cross thou the 136 now links the top of the road.
