This is not official just my guess that the schedules for the 55 will be made in order to accommodate stand space at both the western and eastern terminus. At Oxford Circus the previous stand directly opposite to the McDonalds is no longer vacant. All buses now share stand on the other side of the traffic lights with the 73. On another note, I am not a regular user of route 48 but the route does carry heavy loads of passengers so TFL are making a really big mistake by withdrawing the route. Route 55 is a major flagship route, I've actually seen it packed to the door and passengers not being able to board. The route will require extra vehicles presumably new MMC vehicles as the Routmeasters in use on the 48 is being deployed on to route 67. The 48 is very busy. I see it almost every day at Liverpool street and its always carrying healthy loads - and completely rammed in the peaks. I sort of tend to agree that there are a few routes which can be rationaliser as they duplicate too much; but 48 is not one of them! I did suggest sacrificing the 414 and/or 476 rather than the 48, both were brought in when bus travel was booming and it wouldn't seem unreasonable to withdraw them now that bus travel is in decline. But whatever route you suggest somebody will disagree.

Now look back at it I say the N113 is Pointless now to do is make the 113 run 24 hours to Trafalgar Square and fix the links lost from the 23

Now look back at it I say the N113 is Pointless now to do is make the 113 run 24 hours to Trafalgar Square and fix the links lost from the 23 Methinks someone is forgetting the days of the ol' N13 (Aldwych to North Finchley) where there was a 10 minute frequency on weekends* and buses were at seating capacity before leaving the Strand! Yes I know times have changed, but the 2bph N113 does pick up handsome loads before reaching Oxford Street and as another member has stated; the Trafalgar Square routing of the N113 does support the 139N up till Baker Street. *6bph on the N13 up to 03:00, then frequency drops drastically to 3 or 2 bph thereafter.

How are the remaining routes on Tottenham Court Road coping without the 134?

The 26 & 388 changes should see CT Plus's E40Hs all return to regular service, along with the 2 new examples. Perhaps the 2 new E40Hs ordered could instead go to the 20 at AW (alongside the other ultracap examples), with all of the 16/66reg at HK (plus the 65reg demonstrator and HEA1). With the 8's PVR cut, this could potentially release enough LTs to cover the 55 extension (without transferring any LTs between operators), maybe if one more LT moves from BW to T? This could also speed up the LT conversion of route 19.

Some LTs from the 8's PVR cut already moved from BW to T, LT271-2 off the top of my head, to help release pressure on conventionals at T thus allowing the Tridents to leave.
