I remember well the LS’s around Hounslow and Kingston. Also the SNB from LH and WY. The last few SNB’s had better seats, with that orange / brown moquette used by London Country at the time. I’ll look to buy the book for sure.
London Uniteds upgraded LS’s were great, as they kept the same body shape and lighting.
Red Arrow mark 2 were slower , but I liked the front of them better than the rather sharpish looking mark ones.
All had plenty of individual character, which is what I miss in modern day vehicles.
LS6 was my favourite.

I also remember the LS's around the Hounslow area. A couple of family friends were drivers for Westlink and I used to travel around on the buses as a kid. I remember LS13 with its special custom-made destination blinds by the great Phil Young. Unfortunately they ripped and were eventually replaced. Regarding the Lynx's, I did work experience at London Buslines in the late 1980s and remember their Lynx's which were brought in to supplement the older Fleetlines on the 81.

I was lucky enough to drive LS,s at HD circa 1988 on routes 201 (now H9/10) and 258. On Saturday the 258s had double deck allocation (6) so the LS,s when 2x2 on 114,140 & 183. A few years later at Atlas Bus Lynx,s on the 112. They were the days!
