This week is 2 years before the London wide ULEZ for buses, coaches and lorries.
From 26th October 2020 all remaining buses need to be euroVI (or zero emissions)
There is central London ULEZ from April 2019 and the 12 LBEZ corridors (last one is targeted as Oct 2019 from memory)
So I thought a thread to speculate what will not be upgraded (and all the types that will vanish) would be interesting
In my part of SW London, I think RATP need to lose:
The euroIII (9 remain) and euroIV SPs (91 remain) as don’t think upgrade available The Versas (routes 283 and 391) and solos on K5 (not sure if upgrade exists) The 2007 and 2008 SDEs (uneconomic due to upgrade cost vs value) I suspect the 2007 DEs are too old to do All the DPS fleet (although these are now being replaced) Not sure if a solution to Tempos has been found (It is now 19 months since contract started and still not being refurbished)
Majority of the United motorcoaches and trainer fleet is also not compliant

Most of the single deck batches mentioned are due to be withdrawn soon anyway. With the K5, the 08reg SDEs probably can be upgraded to euro6 if needed. Or if RATP keep them, perhaps the 14reg SDEs from the E10 could be used? Though the K5 has a small PVR so new MMC SDEs could always be ordered.

What do the 111 and 281 use?
The Versas will be gone with the DLEs on order.

What do the 111 and 281 use? The Versas will be gone with the DLEs on order. The 111 uses Euro V SP's whilst the 281 should be using mainly 09 reg Euro IV SP's so the 111's should be upgraded at some point whilst the 281's replaced at some point in theory. Can someone confirm for definite if SP40068-40135 are Euro V as I'm sure they're all Euro V?

The E200s on the 318's still have not been upgraded, no physical sign to show they are Euro6 converted, usually the bus gets a green runnung number holder or that area is painted green. They could go as they are Euro4 at best

For Stagecoach the following buses should be withdrawn by 2020 for London-wide ULEZ for buses. - All remaining Tridents (Though they should be gone by end of next year).
- The 4 Versas at BK which will leave by April next year.
- Most if not all Omnicitys (The 97 won't be tendered until 2022 so it will likely need any surplus Enviro 400's or new buses instead) however regardless of ULEZ I can see Stagecoach withdrawing the Omnicitys for standardisation if possible.
- Some of the ex ELBG Enviro 200's - (The ones at TL & WH that are now modified to Euro 6 and is allocated to a route that won't be tendered until 2021/22 will probably stay beyond 2020).
- The 10 56 reg LWB E400's at TB (Which is expected to be withdrawn by beginning of next year) and Spirit of London 19000 needs somewhere to preserved by 2020.

Metroline’s SELs and the ex First London TEs will probably be all gone before 2020.

All Stagecoach Omnicitys are euro4, and so can not be upgraded. So those on the 97/248/365 will need to be withdrawn and replaced on these routes. I expect all E20Ds at WH will be retained, but TL will likely only keep enough ex-ELBG E20Ds for the P4. I think all other 58/09/59reg at TL are currently allocated to the 178, which has been lost.

They could go as they are Euro4 at best I wouldn't be surprised if Arriva simply order some new ENNs at a later date. RATP have often purchased new vehicles unrelated to a contract, to replace older or non-standard vehicles. Though it has been suggested that the E10's SDEs may return to Arriva and could be used on the 318. But with one having transferred to EB, I think these may be owned outright by RATP, or at least with ownership tranferred under a lease. The 318's tender award did state vehicles from about 2007/2008.

All of Metrolines 08-09 reg DEs, DMs and 55-59 TEs would be withdrawn before 2020.

All the Presidents, ALX400s, Wright Pulsar Gemini’s, Wright Eclipse Gemini’s, Dennis Darts, East Lanc Vykings will be gone. It would make sense for Arriva to convert the 123's VLWs to trainers as they are withdrawn soon if the likes of DW139 will be non compliant.
