LVF now appears to have 11 of the 12 vehicles affected after all the rumour and speculation. Which in a situation like this is quite understandable. The 12 buses destroyed or damaged are: Enviro 400s E60, 94, 136, 224. Enviro 40H hybrid EH18 Volvo/Wright WVL413 Scania OmniCity 563 Mercedes Citaros MEC54, 56, 60 Enviro 200 SEN21 Also Enviro 400 EN33, which was yet to enter service and not on LVF. 563 apparently also safe - means we are down to the 11 most media outlets stated were affected.

Just seen what bus EN33 is after looking at the regs of the buses GAL purchased. It should be SN11BNU, that must be one of the unluckiest buses along with CT Plus’s 2510. EN33 had a bad accident when it was DN33625 under TT and now it’s been part destroyed by fire. 2510 also suffered the same fate but of course survived its fire. I hope GAL can repair as many buses as possible. The ones which were only damaged at the rear, such as SEN21 and E224 should be repairable should GAL wish to do so. The others are damaged beyond repair Agreed ... but given the age of most of them not sure it will make much sense when they do the maths ... Not sure it will make much common sense ... Probably more cost effective to buy from Ensign if they need to.

They could even reinstate three of the ex 293 Scania's until the end of the 358 contract, along with 563 as its apparently safe. Depending on what double deckers Metrobus order for the 208, they could have spare E's or 948-952 covering the lost double deckers until they arrive and extras could be ordered to compensate for the E's lost in the fire. What I was also thinking is that since the 405's OmniDekka's have only just been withdrawn and haven't been collected by Ensign just yet, is that a few E's from the 405 can transfer to MB as replacements, reinstating the OmniDekkas for the time being, as this will save having to introduce a new type to MB if it comes to that. If the 405's Scanias have been sold to Ensign but haven't been collected, they can always lease them back from Ensign.

Glad to hear. 565 was in storage at Croydon, so they must have transferred it there during the day, three of the others however (562, 564 and 566) had flat batteries back in September, so the fact they're not being used tomorrow suggests they had to be towed to MB. However they will require refitting of TfL equipment as they were taken out at Croydon and have new blinds fitted and I'd imagine this takes more than one day to do

How quick is IBus and ticket machine equipment removed when buses are withdrawn ?

Looking at photos I've seen, the MECs seem completely destroyed, and EN33 is practically destroyed. E224 looks severely damaged but possibly repairable, but it looks like an expensive repair which I don't think GAL will be willing to carry out on a bus of its age, E60 similarly could be repaired but because of its age I doubt it will and again similarly with SEN21. The other E400s visible in pictures I have seen look virtually destroyed too.
There is still a few ex TT E400s at Ensign which could be bought to fill in the numbers, shame that this has occurred though, although I can imagine a large company like GAL can handle it.

561, 563 & 565 and some WVLs will apparently be in service tomorrow. So something good comes from today’s event. These are preferred to the Citaros, not least by those with puchchairs!

I'm happy i drive those MECs daily and i liked getting the sole scania (563). Just hope the other scanias are better as 563 has become poor as of late.

Is it me or is this a really insensitive thing to say considering such a tragic happening? A garage has suffered a terrible tragedy, had millions of pounds worth of damage and lives could have been lost. I think the last consideration right now is caring what bus type is used.....

Couldn't have agree more, and to be honest the only thing I'm worried about now is will MB have enough DD's for the 51 in two weeks time without any shortages of DD's at MB or having to put an SD on the 51, 320 & 353, though no doubt everything will probably be sorted by then.

I don't want to get in trouble but I think the original poster said it in a light hearted way. There was discussions from 7am about the 51 still moving and don't even think the flames had gone out so not sure why his post was picked out.
Yes it was a tragedy but thankfully nobody was injured and every bus is replaceable.
I don't want this post to cause any trouble so will delete it if asked too.
