Changes proposed in Bromley North area Affects bus station, and the text contains “ Our assessments indicate this small change to the road layout could result in bus journey time improvements of 12 seconds for routes serving Bromley North station, and improvements of up to seven seconds for through routes.“ 7-12 seconds improvement Mind you those that use Walthamstow bus station probably not laughing consultations.tfl.gov.uk/roads/tweedy-road/

Why make such a big deal about 12 seconds when buses are 'regulated' for several minutes? Anyway that's another subject!

Do they? I've certainly seen some do it but during the many visits there, I certainly wouldn't say most do it. That all said, it does need a tidy up there - hopefully, they don't put down fresh brickwork on the road and instead just use tarmac so it can actually last longer.

Given the lack of money around, I'm not sure this is worth the effort. So you arrive at the next set of traffic lights earlier and sit there for another seven seconds instead.

Yes, I agree that financially, it makes little sense in the current climate - most likely what will happen is the time saving will be eaten up by all the regulation of services that is happening Oh and that's a great song - remember hearing that a lot on the radio when I was growing up

What it looks like to me is a tokenistic attempt to apply the "Healthy Streets" agenda in an Outer London borough that is very unlikely to be sympathetic to its aims. It's clear that a fair part of the stated scope (better pavements) is not (currently) funded either so the proposal is a tad misleading.

7-12 seconds of extra sleep will make the people of Bromley more productive at work, offsetting any negative impact of Brexit. It’s all part of the grand plan you see!

I’ve been using Bromley North this past couple of days and any efforts to improve the exit for buses would be welcomed. It is possible to swing around onto the stops without encroaching the pavement or dipping into the traffic lane but it can be a little tricky so any effort to make this easier would be good - we all want an easy life!
But the biggest difference would be to resurface the bus lane. The brickwork is in a terrible state and replacing this with tarmac would make a huge difference
Overall there’s not much of note here. If I’m honest I can’t quite see the need for consultation. It’s not like there’s a huge change to the road layout. As others have touched on, it does seem like this is a change being made to justify the ‘spending in Outer London’ claims

By all means make it is easier for buses, resurface the bus lane is a good idea as others say, but really I don't think this is the wisest use of funds in the current financial environment.

Yes, 7 seconds is the maximum impact of Brexit.
