FOI request answer on changes to front door boarding etc The conversion was signed off in May, and the 1000th LT was supposed to have been modified by Friday 6 December 2019 But conversion was being done by Wrightbus (who went bust), and hoping that Bamford might help do it Now hoping bus modifications will be done by early 2020 Also says TfL estimating losing £3.6m revenue per year Doing a bit of maths from average fare yield of about 74p (per finance report) suggests about 4.9m people were not attempting to pay (or about 15 people per bus per day based on 900 in service daily) which I find suprisingly low I'm sure it's much higher than that, even on conventional buses many people get two bleeps but still travel or just walk straight past the driver.

After route 8 at Bow was treated, it is now confirmed that the entire fleet of LTs are being modified to discourage boarding other than at the front door.

How well and effective is it working on the 8 I wonder? From my random observations people still board by the rear or centre doors, the signage is hopelessly inadequate, when they then realise the oyster readers have been removed some walk to the front of the bus and touch in and some don't. Personally I doubt if there has been any increase in revenue.

A FOI was posted on here, going well apprantly. Not according to drivers at BW who say it’s not working at all. I guess it's ingrained that the point of the LT's was for quicker loading times, hence all three doors being available. Hopefully it will lessen fare evasion, but now the bus is relegated to an expensive vanity project that is not any more versatile than any other bus
