Admin please delete if necessary but thought it would be a good idea to start this thread. It's been confirmed that the last HST service from Paddington will be the 18.30 to Exeter St Davids on the 18th May. I will certainly miss them having been on a lot, proper trains same can't be said about the class 800s unfortunately.

There is an 18.03 PAD-PNZ then a 19.03 PAD-PLY.
I have had from numerous sources that it is the last Plymouth on the last Saturday of the winter timetable, which would make it the 20.03 PAD-PLY on the 18th.

The 1830 terminates at Taunton and is on a IET diagram.

Depends how trustworthy said RailForum source is. At the moment there is "confirmation" from two different people stating two different services.
GWR have quoted that they have "plans", but we should probably wait until they reveal.

It has been reported in RAIL by GWR that the last HST is expected to be the 18.03 PAD-PNZ, on the 18th.

And that's different to the original article published! Was that in RAIL aswell the original article? Yes. The original article published 3hrs ago said 18.03, and then was updated 30mins ago to 18.30.

Thanks for the info - but it's not the last "service" HST though

By way of a technicality, there will still be some mini-HSTs with 4 carriages around for local services. I believe there will be 11 in total. I rode one from Exeter St Davids to Plymouth last May.
I appreciate that the end is nigh for traditional HSTs on the main line from London Paddington, hence this thread.

A long shot, but hey ....
I am travelling from London Paddington to Newton Abbot on Saturday (30th March), does anyone know which departures are scheduled for a HST? It may be my last opportunity to ride one out of Paddington.
