According to Buses Magazine (August) the fleet inherited by Go North West has a high average age, especially its single-deck fleet of Volvo B7LREs - of sixty, only five are less than thirteen years old. It is initially bringing down the age of this fleet by sourcing mid-life vehicles from elsewhere. As well as fourteen ADL Enviro 200s from various sources, ten Volvo B7RLE/Wright Gemini Eclipse 2 are also coming from fellow Go-Ahead subsidiary Plymouth CityBus. These are seven years old and are being replaced in Plymouth by brand-new ADL Enviro200 MMCs.

Some Go North West routes are 67, 100 and 135. These do or soon will match GA London route numbers!

I saw a refurbished Volvo B5LH yesterday. As it had orange grabrails (coincidentally like Stagecoach but no conjecture inferred) I wonder whether Go NW are trialling different styles of refurbishment before selecting one and keeping to it?

The vehicles they taken over from first kept their 5 digit ex First fleet numbers but all the vehicles brought into the Manchester operations are 5 digit numbers too. Not seen anywhere else adopt 5 digits yet. Even London still have 4 digits for feeling codes, must be a bit tight for new number batches without getting a messy order with the amount of vehicles in the fleet now.

I did wonder, as I've seen the fuelling ID numbers are different from the usual codes for London buses like SEN13... I could see how the number batches could become a mess, just look at Arriva's chaos outside London where the fleet number will change to fit in with the allocation within the local firm ie Arriva Midlands would re-number a bus transferred from Southern Counties
