I think the RV1 is a lost cause. Some of the other ideas are worthy of consideration though, although having the Overground calling at Brixton would be more a matter for Lambeth Council. I did speak to a Lambeth Councillor at Clapham High Street on the day the Clapham Junction service started, he said the Council would definitely be interested in having Overground platforms at Brixton, but they would probably have to be funded as part of a redevelopment project.

Yes the RV1 has gone and clearly isn't going to return, London Overground platforms at Brixton should be the priority but as you've alluded to would have to be part of a bigger project. Also a suggestion of extending the 63, but to where?

Bring back Metroline double deckers to the RV1, apparently. Oh, and while you're at it, just allow passengers to get on and off Overground trains at Brixton, because there's nothing to physically prevent it! Southwark Council, a byword for inane statements in the hope of remaining in office a little longer.

Overground trains do not run through Brixton Station - they use the high level line which runs over the station just like the old South London line.

Don’t believe what Lambeth councillors say, it’s usually all rubbish sadly and that’s from someone who has lived and seen my family deal with them for over 20 odd years. This idea keeps cropping up but the problem is it will cost a lot to do and we have a mayor who couldn’t care less about transport. The reason the cost is so great is because the station and the Overground line are both on elevated sections of track even though Brixton Station needs a rebuild because it’s an afterthought and an awful looking station. There was this happening however no improvements to the station have been mentioned www.fromthemurkydepths.co.uk/2019/05/27/new-homes-for-brixton-but-what-of-a-new-station/The other option was to build a new East Brixton Station on the site of the old station but again, cost is the problem here due to the elevated section - estimates I’ve read are £30m for this proposal. Meanwhile, the CTUG (Clapham Transport Users Group) have suggested a rebuild of Clapham High Street instead which they claim is less expensive than building East Brixton Station so that Victoria & Orpington bound trains can serve the station. They also called for more improvements to buses as well www.brixtonblog.com/2018/02/call-for-brixton-link-to-overground-rail-network/49691/?cn-reloaded=1

Maybe the council would like to fund it like the 812 around Islington. If not then they should face facts that the 381 and 343 cover the route and have space for the RV1 passengers.
