It's a shame one of my favourites did not make it onto the list: Stagecoach's 122 between Babbacombe, Torquay and Paignton.

The Guardian has not got it quite right about the A1, the two-hourly service from mid September being closed top and, even in the summer, not all journeys are open top. The £1.40 short hop fare quoted would see you needing to get off before you'd sat down upstairs too! What they could perhaps have mentioned is the 'circuit' of A1, A2 and A3 which will take you on a round tour of the Penwith peninsula via St Ives as well, achieved on two buses rather than three. A while back, as service 500 you could travel on just the one bus, clockwise or anti-clockwise, but the ramifications of ENCTS reimbursement put paid to it.

I'm surprised the 501 from Weymouth to Portland Bill isn't on there (it may have a new number) as that's certainly one of the best open-top bus rides for scenery looking over Weymouth Bay and Chessil Beach

I too am surprised it isn't featured.
