Not going to lie but it is very deafening - it happens at Vauxhall on the Victoria Line as well as on the northbound section at Victoria

It's particularly bad on the southbound City branch of the Northern Line between Camden Town and Euston.
I've noticed a few drivers on the Bakerloo Line wearing ear defenders.

The title is misleading as the RMT have voted of industrial action short of a strike. So no strike yet.

I've noticed it (I mean, how can you not?) on the Jubilee line around the Baker Street area, and it's horrible. I always assumed it was in the process of having track replaced or something, but here we are many years later.

It's very noticeable on the central line betweem Holland Park and Shepherd's bush. Lots of the northern line drivers wear ear defenders.

The central line between Liverpool St and Bethnal Green is ridiculous, it was been ongoing for around 4 years now. There was a time I think they sprayed the quiet rail thing on it, but that only lasted a few months then it was back to normal.

Kentish town to Camden is the worst Camden to Euston (City branch) is getting better but still noticeable The northern came out on top www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-49661911

There used to be a horrible deafening sound you'd get eastbound between Holland Park and Notting Hill Gate. I've either become immune to it, or its stoppped as I didn't hear it last time I was on that part of the Central Line.

If it's the same sort of noise I heard last year it was rather unusual sounding but as you say quite deafening and kind of catches one off guard as it it appears suddenly then is gone after about two seconds. At that time we were travelling from Oxford Circus to Shepherds Bush.

Maybe I am missing something but are most lines not automatic now so how will drivers override the system to slow the trains down on certain sections. Sorry I am probably missing something really obvious

Sorry I am probably missing something really obvious The four affected lines (Central, Jubilee, Northern & Victoria) are all Auto Train Operated lines to an extent (Victoria since it was built) but I believe though not certain it can be over ridden by a driver The other lines are driven fully by drivers
