Bye Bye 65/681 Gemini 3s then. I wonder what has happened. Have RATP cancelled the order? Have Bamford decided they don't want to build the two buses? Either way this isn't good, and if I were RATP, I'd be appalled. It is possible that Volvo have exercised a lien over the chassis if not yet paid for, so Bamford can’t finish them On a wider scale, unclear how many buses can be finished if suppliers have seized components (I don’t know, what if any has been returned or impounded) but unlikely to sell parts to a new company with no credit history, unless paid for in advance.

Sadly even if Wrightbus is saved, I can see confidence being damaged in placing orders with them. I can see Metroline switching to Evosetis and City's for all orders. As for Arriva and RATP who knows.

As for Arriva and RATP who knows. Quite possible, but in the case of Metroline the ship has already sailed, all their orders in recent times have been Evoseti's.
Bamford has a good track record (albeit not in buses) so I don't think he'll have an issue with suppliers.
The bigger question is what the new Wrightbus will be offering customers to differentiate themselves from other manufacturers? One of the issues in London for the old Wrightbus was that as far as I could make out MCV offered the same Volvo chassis in a cheaper package with it being made abroad potentially with cheaper labour. ADL offers a different package altogether. If that assessment is correct a new owner for Wrightbus won't change that landscape. I think the new Wrightbus will concentrate on hydrogen buses and that may (or may not) fly and be successful.

It’s possible that Wrightbus simply offered a better deal, doesn’t mean they don’t like them. Tower Transit have also ordered nothing from MCV for two years - most likely is down to how few new buses the operator has required.

It sounds like some of the Streetdecks that had been stored at the factory 35601-35607 have now turned up at First Leeds
I don’t think First were impressed with quality recently, and not sure anything after 36582 has been accepted (not sure if the missing numbers exist)
The big question is if these have now arrived for First, will the 2 missing VHs for RATP turn up soon

It's nice that Bamford Bus has tried to appeal to former workers who were made redundant after Wrights collapsed, but a lot of them have either gone to other firms after their was all the appeals and job fairs, or wary in case something happens again. Once bitten, twice shy. Bamford's parent company have also been more focused on the world's fastest tractor (154 mph ) something that at least hints the new firm could make the Streetdeck a little faster Tower Transit bought Wrightbus stuff because it was cheaper, perhaps not necessarily because it was better. You still see a variety on the 444 because the Streetlite buses aren't too reliable. I notice a lot of Tottenham's HV's losing their 'chrome' trim in the Wright's logo at the front of the bus with sections falling off, which hints at poor build quality after less than three years I doubt they have had any bumps and knocks to panelling. I want to see a change in design and better engines. I wonder if Go Northeast will order E400's for the remaining XLines fleet if none of the Streetdeck buses are made in time? there was a Citaro engine version on the way before it went tits up...
