There appears to be a case, but not an unassailable one. Kingston should certainly be re-zoned from 6 to 5 though on the basis of his research. Can't say I agree with renaming East Croydon as Croydon Central: West Croydon would have equal claim imo.

Too many MP's obsessed with renaming places to make them sound more fashionable - there were proposals to remain Brixton as New Clapham or East Croydon

The obsession with rezoning stations never seems to abate. It's always about cutting fares, not the opposite, but every cut has to be funded because of the rail franchise income forecasts. People need to be careful what they want as we may end up with zones going altogether and individual pricing returning.

People need to be careful what they want as we may end up with zones going altogether and individual pricing returning. I know it was a while ago, but I still think the Zone 2/3 debacle in East London is utterly ridiculous. I mean I didn't think Stratford being in Zone 2/3 had that strong a justification, but putting the whole of that DLR branch into 2/3 was nonsensical. On the carriage maps it looks hideous now to see this huge eyesore of a 2/3 overlap.
Does anyone know what the loss TfL are making because of this is? Even if Westfield paid them a lump sum initially, TfL have been conned - just think how much money they could have saved, and maybe a certain 48 bus route wouldn't have needed to be withdrawn.

I would like to see Norwood Junction renamed South Norwood when it gets rebuilt

I think its fine as it is in Zone 5, but Croydon could be incorporated into Zone 4 if Zone 6 is extended further south in the future to places like Redhill, Reigate, Dorking, Oxted etc and TfL have a bit more presence in areas such as Caterham

Rename Colliers Wood to East Wimbledon whilst at it lol And Wimbledon Village to North Wimbledon! West Ealing should be renamed to, just when you thought Ealing couldn't get anymore west. Ditto North Finchley, South Croydon etc. (For a while my favourite station name in the country was Wigan Northwestern)

I don't like 'Central Croydon', plus people might get confused with the 'Centrale' tram stop. On the topic of zones I think it's silly that Bromley North is in Zone 4 but Bromley South is in Zone 5.
