First finally sells First Berkshire's operations to Reading Transport Ltd. (to operate under its Thames Valley Buses brand) and fully subcontracts the operation of RailAir to Reading Buses - the RailAir lounge at Reading Station will be staffed by Great Western Railway.
A few more demand-responsive networks will appear.
Greater Manchester will pull away from full franchising, operators will respond by showing increasing willingness to work in partnership (this will not include First who will exit Oldham during the year).

It all depends if Khan gets back in, not that he deserves it. 176 goes fully LT, which renders them useless to ride on hot summer days. The first fare rise for TfL only modes for the first time in years. If Shaun Bailey gets in, I won't be surprised if TfL finally receives central Gov subsidies to help fix the bus cuts which may also help rail franchises move to London Overground now that Boris is in power. It'd mean more regular fare rises, but at least a more useful transport system than we have currently. It’s likely that the LT’s on the 176 will end up on the 67 when Go-Ahead takes over the route as the current 67 LT’s are expected to move to the 19 but we’ll have to watch this space and I agree, very awful to ride in the hot weather personally. I think a fares freeze has been confirmed under Khan for next year - sure I read or heard it on ITV News this month?

176 goes fully LT, which renders them useless to ride on hot summer days. If that were true they would all be empty on hot summer days and clearly that isn't the case. I was under the impression that LT's from the 176 were going to be used for the 67? Not getting into a big debate about this as it's been done time n time again. Personally I have used many a bus that is baking hot, people have no choice in some situations I wouldn't let a bus go just because I don't like LT's.

Grant Shapps is the current Secretary of State for Transport. He is an MP for Welywn, and is a long suffering Great Northern (or more broadly GTR) sufferer. He lobbied for the franchise to be transferred to TfL, and wrote to other MPs down the line about his concerns at Govia's incompetence, and his discontent. I think that now he is in a position of power, and a frontbencher, he will push for the line to be transferred to TfL. I know the franchise doesn't expire until 2021, but I expect it to transfer to London Overground, perhaps with the annoucement coming next year.
EDIT: I know this thread is titled bus predictions but I'm not the first on this thread to make a rail related prediction, nor do I think I'll be the last

A very mixed year for the bus network I feel.
- further cuts to bus services in zones 1 and 2, modest expansion elsewhere in London. In the shires, a steady year for Kent/Surrey/Berkshire/Buckinghamshire/Hertfordshire/Thurrock, with significant cuts in Essex.
- considerably more routes to receive, or be earmarked to receive electric buses.
- Sadiq Khan to be re-elected, but no fares freeze this time.
- outside of London, Firstbus to be no more, broken into three or four pieces and sold - with none of the pieces retaining the First name. At least one of the pieces to use different trading names in different areas.

Even Trump said that 😂

What other cuts/changes could be implemented early next year?
Are more routes possibly scheduled for withdrawal?
With fairness, I strongly oppose removing major routes especially reducing routes in the city zone 1! Funny that last night I went to Trafalgar Square and Oxford Circus to see the Christmas lights, there happens to be more night buses than regular normal routes. To give a specific example on Oxford Street (East) only routes 55, 73, 98 and 390 operate but many more night routes, especially at Trafalgar Square. It's a joke, so tell me how should I get to work comfortably? Oh, don't say use trains and if you insist make them cheaper just like buses!

The Night tube will eventually run 7 days a week, I predict. Route 25 will become 24hr as before but only run up to City Thameslink, N8 provides further westbound access.
Route 55 will be cut back to Holborn, excuse will be continuing westbound change to route 98.
I could see the 25 being cut back to Stratford on the eastern terminus as routes 86 and 425 provide access towards Ilford.
Changes to routes in the Beckton/Gallions Reach area, 101 and 262 cut back to Beckton Bus Stn.
Route 136 back to terminating at Peckham, continue through Southampton Estate with the 343.
Just cant work out why N buses are still entering zone 1, possibly as the tube doesn't operate after around midnight.
I don't mean to be harsh but the status of buses in London, isn't looking good at all.

Even Trump said that 😂 Khan has been awful but if we start listening to what Trump says, then we may as well pull the plug on this world right now. Khan will get in because there is no credible challenger - Shaun Bailey is equally bad with his outdated views on the LGBT community.

The bigger question is, do we really need a mayor of London?
