i only know the West Cornwall ones, but Summercourt Travel is the main loser, also Help the Aged! The latter seem true to their name from my observations of their minibus operation, drivers leaving their cabs to assist the less mobile, as, of course, these fall without the low floor legislation. One gain should be that they will become more accessible, which can only be a good thing imo. Hopleys Coaches operate two vehicles on the 304 Truro to Porthtowan (one on Saturdays), and a third on the 315 Redruth to St. Agnes. Both route registrations show subsidy ‘in part’, so one presumes some journeys (or parts of) are operated under contract to the council, or maybe the Saturday service? I’m not sure if there’s a way to find out. I read an article in a recent edition of Coach & Bus Week about Hopleys - will have to look at a back issue online if it’s still available! It looks like Go Ahead are actively looking to recruit local drivers from other companies. They are asking for qualified drivers in Cornwall to apply, stating their current operator and route knowledge. It'll be very sad if Hopley's go out of business. I don't know whether they might be prepared to convert the subsidised journeys to commercial: more likely on the Truro route, I'd have thought. I bought that issue of CBW so I'll try and find it if my dog hasn't destroyed it. Go Ahead may find it easier to find drivers the further east they go in Cornwall (or even into Devon) as I can't see many First drivers wishing to move at this stage.

It’s looking positive for OTS of Falmouth. They have announced that they are to be part of the new network, presumably operating as a subcontractor. They’ve not yet specified routes but are now advertising for drivers and cleaners/fuellers/shunters so looks to be a case of expansion for them!

Summercourt Travel / Travel Cornwall have also now posted on Facebook announcing they’ll be operating a number of new routes and some photos of them testing a red Enviro 200 round some tighter routes. They said “one of the new cleaner greener buses”, but like to me to be a classic style Enviro 200. The mismatched bumper panels look like ex-Regal Busways SN10 CAU as long ago as 2016 (nearside full maroon, offside half maroon), but I’m not local so don’t know if that now resides in Cornwall.

Stagecoach has cancelled the registrations for Bude area services 128 and 216/217/219 which are Cornwall Council contracts. Presumably these are to be part of the Go Cornwall Bus operation come April. They will retain the Bude journeys on the 319 for now as these are used to transfer vehicles between Barnstaple Depot and Stratton outstation for routes 6/6A (Bude/Launceston-Okehampton-Exeter).

Go Cornwall Bus has now registered a number of new routes to start 29th March. Some appear to "duplicate" First Kernow routes; in most cases these are just supported journeys on what are otherwise commercial routes (85% of First Kernow's services are commercial).
Fuller details will no doubt emerge, and there may be some tweaking if First Kernow decides to register some of its supported work commercially.

Go Cornwall Bus has obtained premises in the centre of Liskeard which will house a drivers' rest room and a public information office. The rest room will save time and dead mileage on crew changeovers and drivers will not need to return to the depot at Trevecca for rest breaks.
Several ex-London ADL Enviro400s have arrived, including ex-Go-Ahead London E54 and Stagecoach 10199-10205, and a steady stream of new 20-reg. ADL Enviro200 MMCs is reported to be whizzing its way down to Cornwall - the exact number has not been confirmed yet but it has been suggested that there could be more then 70. Indeed, the network map shows First retaining little work away from the main roads.
