Where does the 133 pick up most people at Liverpool Street Bus Station, Old Broad Street or Bank? Before the crazy amount of works in the area, the 133’s first stop at Liverpool Street was the busiest but it certainly was common for 133’s to have a few people waiting at all stops along Old Broad Street. Bank isn’t as busy, would say Monument was a busier stop before When I was working on the Crossrail project at Liverpool Street I used to catch the 133 from London Bridge. At that time the bus station was closed and the last stop was in the road past Tower 42 (the old NatWest Tower). Even at 05:45 10 or 15 people would get off the bus at this point.

Iv heard that even on the weekends when the City is incredibly quiet the 133 had a good loads from Liverpool Street. I'm guessing people coming into Liverpool Street from the east on the train then heading to the Southbank and Borough. I think the 133 is probably safe, it just means there will be a bus desert in a big block of the City surrounded by Moorgate, Cornhill, Bishopsgate and London Wall so some people will have to walk further. On the plus side providing that bus stops are sensibly located the changes will bring buses on the east - west routes (8, 11 and 26) into the heart of the City around the Bishopsgate/Cornhill junction where the shops and Leadenhall Market are. I wonder about the future of the 344, particularly now that the 133 would share the same route north of Monument. The one way working around London Bridge/Southwark Bridge is not very satisfactory. I think Southwark Bridge Road needs a bus route, but not sure it needs to run over Southwark Bridge, perhaps an extension of the 388 from London Bridge to Elephant via Southwark Street and Southwark Bridge? The 344 could be cut back to Elephant subject to stand space. Alternatively if many people use the 344 for journeys that cross Elephant & Castle, perhaps it could be rerouted the direct way along Borough High Street? Is the 344 still expected to eventually serve Southwark Bridge in both directions again?
