Wowsers talk about a throwback. A year or so later DLP1 gained an extra floor and was joined by 19 others at Enfield, with T***XBV marks Those SB220's must have been a mission on tight turns onto Fore Street, Angel Edmonton or getting onto the bus stand at Muswell Hill Would've been funny if they tried it on the W3, I can think of about a thousand places where it would struggle

Didn't the 144 also get an experimental Paxton bodied SB220 coded DLP1? I remember there were pictures of it somewhere R151GNW, not sure if it went on other routes I forgot about those, I am sure there were 3 of them. Yes there were 3 for a frequency increase on the 144. I think this was in connection with the withdrawal of the W2.
The Presidents were originally going to be coded DLN to distinguish them from these single-deckers, reflecting the fact that the President was built at the former Northern Counties factory. Indeed I think some prototype Presidents carried Northern Counties badging. By the time the double-deckers entered service Arriva had already decided to cascade the single-deckers outside London, and the NC name was being dropped, so they were coded DLP instead.

The W3 really has those tight roads. I think Middle Lane would be the biggest issue for me and maybe the stands.

I remember the rear seats by the engine on the lower saloon being a little low and very poorly padded I preferred the Y and 51 reg out of Wood Green, but to keep on topic, Tottenham's handful of 52 plate DLP's were only on the 243 in spring/summer 2003 before VLWs arrived (First still had the 123)

Not even VHP1 or 2 can get the award though VHP2 comes very close having just one sole working that wasn't a 37 when it did the 36 at night - VHP1 on the other hand has done a few 36 workings as well as the 63, 363 & N63

Donโt think anyone mentioned some of the artics in the 2000s A lot of them were transferred between garages and routes. This happened for Arriva, Stagecoach, First and Go-Ahead.

When the Esteems were at C for the 367, I'm very sure they never strayed away but this is a while ago now, so my memory might be failing me

When the Esteems were at C for the 367, I'm very sure they never strayed away but this is a while ago now, so my memory might be failing me I think they did but very rarely, I believe it did see a stray of its own like a Marshall Dart every once in a while but canโt remember if that was whilst at C or MB
