I think you miss understand the purpose and intention of HS2. It is not a tube line or even Elizabeth Line type line. Its TBM are the second largest in diameter in the UK (only second to Silvertown TBMs). They cannot sensibly be reused for building a Central Line relief route. It is a high speed rail line akin to HS1 in Kent. My understanding is demand on the Central Line at this end of the route lower than the other side. If the Central Line is in high demand between North Acton and West Ruislip then the surface level New North Main Line should be better utilised not HS2 Does the Northolt to Acton line still meet at Old Oak with the GWR mainline? The section between Greenford West Junction and Old Oak Junction (plus the Greenford East Curve) has been mothballed since December 2018 as work on Old Oak Common Station and HS2 has severed the route. The route may be brought back into use so that Chiltern Railways services can run to and from Old Oak Common, but it is unlikely it will be connected with the Great Western Main Line again. Interestingly, before it closed Greenford East Junction had the last semaphore signals controlling a passenger line in London, and the last GWR lower-quadrant signals. The home signals were supported on an original GWR bracket. The line opened in 1903. Chiltern Railways Paddington Farewell by Julian Walker, on Flickr

HS2 would have to be four tracked, with all the associated costs. An absolute genuine non-starter.

Underground is stopping at the lot of local stations. HS2 is non- stop running on miles between station. TfL is not keep on it. However Southeastern is using high speed from London st Pancras international to many stations in Kent area. So it more likely down to national railway rather than underground. But couldn’t new stations be created for the underground to stop at the local stations? Create new interchange stations at Perivale, Northolt, Greenford and so on? The New North Main Line already exists and stopper trains could be introduced down that?

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Central has already been relieved by the Elizabeth line? Why would it then need to be relieved again? yeah with the Ealing branch but that’s with the Ealing branch and the main section but I think that West Ruislip up to South Ruislip could have some of relief. Run Northolt terminating trains through to West Ruislip then?

I should’ve have been clearer I think that the West Ruislip branch up to South Ruislip or between South Ruislip and North Acton could do with some relief.

A spur off the Elizabeth Line from Old Oak Common up to West Ruislip or even ambitiously High Wycombe/Gerrards Cross along the New North Main Line could be looked at? I don’t think the situation is as dire as you make it sound that it would require an entirely new railway built.

HS2 trains and a tube line in the same tunnel I could not see as compatible. Could the HS2 tunnel be re-purposed for a tube line and no longer used for HS2? Yes, subject to cost, that could likely be done, but remember the HS2 tunnel is 'over-engineered' and 'over-size' for tube trains. Is it likely to happen? No I would have thought it is highly unlikely.

I appreciate this is "Fantasy" or at least you know it will never happen. The fact is there is probably just not enough demand for a new tube line where the HS 2 tunnels are!

I can't see any reason or need to run slow tube trains next to tracks, in a tunnel, with high speed trains

It would be less fantastical creating a whole new tube line on a different route. It’s just a non starter.

It would be less fantastical creating a whole new tube line on a different route. It’s just a non starter. I would have thought that in order to keep HS2 trains running at the planned full tunnel speed you would need extra new tunnelling to put the tube tracks alongside safely, and the cost of that would be huge if not prohibitive.
