Hammy did make some valid points about London bus drivers though... Most of them seem completely oblivious to their wing-mirrors! Bendies are the worst because they're positively dangerous when they pull out into streams of traffic.

Indeed, I used to wait until someone gave way to me, now I force them into it (better add incase the boss is reading, in a perfectly safe manner )

They wouldn't be so dangerous if other traffic had the courtsey of giving way to buses. That's no excuse for reckless and dangerous driving. Can you imagine the consequences of something as big and heavy as a bus hitting the average small car? I always give way to buses indicating as long as it's safe for me to do so, although the manner in which they drive and their lack of politeness in return makes me wonder if I should in many cases! I've had to seriously veer (to the extent of hitting the kerb at some speed once - perhaps I should demand that First pay to have the tracking sorted on my car!) and slam my brakes on to avoid them. The trouble is they pull out without looking, or indicating, the moment the hit the door close, and drivers are often along side them. I can't just complain about London; Bath bus drivers are really bad too, although they're usually less of an issue down here as they're a lower proportion of the traffic and there's less traffic to start with. Oddly, in Bristol, they seem to be pretty polite - I've been thanked on many occasions (as I'd expect from another car driver, I should point out) for letting buses out there - perhaps it's just that in Bristol, they don't get many polite car drivers so it takes them by surprise
