Veolia Transport seem to be quietly building up their presence . It now operated from 16 Locations in the UK, has a fleet of about 700 vehicles and employes over 1600 people. It resenctly bought out Aston Coaches & Paul James Coaches. It is looking to buy out more bus companies in the UK. East London Buses is thought to be a target. It is also looking to try to buy out Cardiff bus and Newport transport in South Wales.

I certainly hope council owned or independent bus companies don't fall into Veolia's hands...

I certainly hope council owned or independent bus companies don't fall into Veolia's hands... If Veolia there are like they are here, I share that. At least they paint the buses a colour over there, here they're just white with their vinyls stuck on (or in some cases the previous operator's colours plus vinyls)
