I had the misfortune of following abus B896 UAS from the roundabout at the bottom of Pennyquick all the way up Rush Hill and into Englishcombe Lane earlier (to anybody not from Bath, that's gobbledegook, I know. It suffices to say it's a very hilly, national speed limit road.)
The bloody thing was going so slow up the hills that I was in first and my speedo was resting on the pin at the bottom To make matters worse, it was fumigating me with lovely black, carcinogenic diesel smoke all the while. My car has a cabin air filter/pollen filter and I was still nearly choking on it.
Perhaps the worst thing is that when the driver entered the 30 limit at the top of the hill and the flat, he shot off into the distance doing at least 40, presumably to make up his timetable. There's a school up there, so I'm seriously thinking of writing a complaint to abus.
This kind of thing shouldn't be allowed on the roads. It's a health hazard and brings a usually quite fast road to a near standby. There were at least 15 cars behind me by the top of the last hill. How come lovely flat city centres get all the decent buses and they put the crap out here where it's going to annoy the hell out of everbody.
Edit: If I'm going to make a complaint, there's not much abus will do about it. They only have crappy old buses, and they're hardly going to change them at the request of one person moaning. Does anybody know if I can/how to contact the traffic commissioner for the West of England?
