See for yourself: southhantsbus.fotopic.net/p49443439.htmlMD7, 11, and 14 are also at Black Velvet Travel, operating as single-door buses, with LED destination boards, on route 'A' travelling from Eastleigh to Botley. Also, found these... VWL1 in white: markamis.fotopic.net/p45380559.htmlMD1 in a sickening bright yellow in Blackburn: jenkystransportbuses.fpic.co.uk/p45356813.htmlLook what some tit did to MD2, OMG!!! - it wasn't very 'cumfy' when it was on route 486, i can tell you!: www.flickr.com/photos/billogs/2120731129/And NV25, looking like its been painted by David Blunkett!! www.buspics.co.uk/p35505850.html

jenkystransportbuses.fpic.co.uk/p44492578.htmlHere we have MD1 and MD16, stripped of London Central logo's and ready for conversion at NW Bus & Coach, Blackburn. Notice the one at the rear, MD16, has had its centre doors ripped out ready for conversion to single door...

I notice that in the first photos the purple MD's have gone back to sealed saloon windows, I assume they've got the air-con working again

Where is the union ?

Where is the union ? No joke I assure you. I've been going mental about it and the union re said he spoke to OM about it and hes reply was "I didn't think it was that hot yet" (this was put to him in january) We have a union rep at DT that sings the same tune as management at the moment. Having said that since the recent episode of scrapheap challenge at GY and DT we may have some new management soon (I hope) that is enless they wriggle out of it!!

Its all for fuel economy, running air-con burns more fuel.

At LC, mainly in the summer (when the wathers hotter, or meant to be hotter), we're told to report buses with defective Air-Con as defective, theres even been occasions in the past where drivers have refused to take buses out because the Ari-Con doesnt work, or blows out warm air, they put it down to driver comfort, and beleive it or not Working Conditions!!!

Putting it down to working conditions isn't unfair IMO. I'm sure no bus driver would fancy driving in the blasing sun for hours on end without any form of a coolant.
