Which 5 is the fastest? Atleast name the one which you think is the fastest? Like because it might approach stations fast or when it is outside. Your opinions.

I believe the Central, Metropolitan, DLR, Victoria & Piccadilly are the top 5 fastest. Not in this order though

Central & Victoria are ATO, so they are the quickest as the trains can go 100%
on the Northern and Jubilee, they are restricted to 62%
The Piccadily will be just the same as the rest really.
DLR isn't part of the tube, but it is ATO so it is quite fast.

Then its the Victoria Line which has a fast section betwen Kings Cross & Seven Sisters. The Piccadilly is also fast over the Hammersmith and Acton Town. The Central line is only average and has no real fast sections

oh yes it does. Definely no average speed lol! It is just like the Victoria Line. It approaches alot of station fast
Central Line -MILE END -BETHNAL GREEN -CHANCERY LANE -HOLBORN -TOTTENHAM COURT ROAD -OXFORD CIRCUS -BOND STREET -MARBLE ARCH -LANCASTER GATE -HOLLAND PARK -GREENFORD
The fast parts now! -Epping - Debden -Buckhurst Hill - Snaresbrook -Stratford - Liverpool Street -Saint Pauls - Lancaster Gate -Notting Hill Gate - Holland Park -North Acton - West Ruslip ---- beats cars on the dual carriaway lol =50mph on it
Victoria Line Most stations I do admit. But because central line has too many sharp turns like
-coming from bethnal green to mile end, there use to be one big sharp turn, then the speakers comes on saying, the next station ....
-Bank sections- wow! turns (loud init lol)
-Saint Pauls (2 turns before station towards it)
-Notting Hill Gate Station
-Shepards Bush (the weirdest station. It is soo small)
-Shepards Bush - White City (those bends are too sharp. God knows how they make tracks like that lol)
The Metropolitan Line I like as well. Speed! Those trains are good though !!
But the slowest lines are: -DISTRICT -HAMMERSMITH & CITY -BAKERLOO -EAST LONDON -CIRCLE
The waterloo and city is a nice route. It sounds exactly like the Central & it looks the same, apart from the arm rest. That should be the same with the Central Line isn't it lol?
The Piccadilly Line is a fab route. Heathrow section i like when it comes up in the middle of the dual carriageway lol. I absolutely love the bit between Hammersmith - Acton Town. Excellent. That line is enjoyable.
The DLR. I like it. It goes reasonable in the tunnels. It should extend into Central London proper, since it has a tunnel. Probably join with waterloo & city and go Waterloo, then like Oxford Circus via Charing Cross & Piccadilly, That would be good!

Central and Victoria are definately two of the fastest lines on the network, due to the high speeds the respective 92ts and 67ts reach. Metropolitan also very quick.
Piccadilly is IMHO not that fast, it always feels pretty slow to me in the Central London section. The only part that is fast is indeed the Hammersmith > Acton Town section, although I've noticed trains go pretty quickly on the Arnos Grove > King's Cross section too.
Jamaicarussa: about that DLR extension you want - it most likely won't happen, although there are proposals to extend it to the abandoned Jubilee Line platforms at Charing Cross (from what I've heard - can someone confirm this?).
<yawns> I'm off to bed ;D

The Victoria Line- Due to the massive gaps between stations, and the fact that the drivers love to apply the brakes about 2 seconds before the train reaches the end of the platform, ensuring a lovely fart of relief from the train!!

ROFL ;D ;D ;D a "fart of relief"... I don't know about the Victoria 67ts, but I do know that the Metropolitan's A stock are major culprits for making this rude nose ;D

Yup... at Baker Street especially, it echo's!! To be honest, being only 18... I haven't had the pleasure/ misfortune of using London Underground for a long time, but I must say, I've never seen a Met Line train rammed out, which makes me wonder, why are they so long?

I dont understand What I meant was, Ive never seen a Met Line train packed, so I dont understand why the trains are so long? 8 coaches as opposed to 6 on the Circle

Minijay, the Craven built A60 & A62 units replaced old locomotive hauled standard size carriages. They were designed as 4 car units. So 2 x 4=8. They've been like that since they were introduced. They only use a single 4 car unit on the Chesham shuttle, and the old East London line. The Circle line has to use 6 car units, made up of a 4+2 because some of the platforms, can't remember where, can only accomodate a 6 car train.

Oh I understand now Euston Square has a short platform. The new sub-surface stock trains, from Bombardier, are going to be the same on all sub-surface lines... apparantely. Does that mean that the Met line is going to match the other lines with 6 coaches... or, will it have an extra 2 car set?

Doesn't matter what Bombardier do to the length of the train, the make up will have to be the same to fit the platforms. The A60/62s can't go east of Aldgate because of tunnel clearances, thats why the 'Met' to Barking uses Circle line stock, and the 'D' stock can't go beyond Edgware Road. (Unless the Mad mullah AKA Red Ken has a cunning plan to lengthen the platforms!!)
