hello there i didn't know that the London overground went to Tonbridge lol i was coming from tonbridge to orpington. a London overground train left going county bound. sorry no picture i am affaid but ? why was it there in first place. on a test run or something? any one have any ideas each new one has to do test run and they go to Ashford (Chart Leacon works for Inspection), think they have do certain number of miles (can't remember how many, might be 200 ?) and run at top speed to prove there is no build faults before being accepted for service. They are built by Bombardier (in Derby, which only has very short electrified test track) )and Chart Leacon is a Bombardier works on the 3rd rail network, hence why you saw a new one at Tonbridge.

Class 172 004 has been out on test, i saw it for own eyes departing Wanstead Park heading towards Gospel oak this afternoon, its a shame i was on ground level or else i would have taken pictures. it doesn't have the traverse seating like its Electric Siblings The Class 378's which are used on the ELL,NLL,WLL And Watford DC Line.

172 004 has been accepted by London Overground. It now has London Overground Vinyls applied. 172 001 was sent back to Derby because apparently exhaust fumes were seeping through to the passenger compartment.
Yeah 'McV Kid' Not as much of high frequency on the 'GOBLIN' in comparison to the rest of the Overground network, so 2+2 seating was the preferred option by London Overground.
Not quite sure when the next working is for this unit but it is based at Willesden Junction TMD and it easily visible from Willesden Junction 'high' level and if your camera has a good enough zoom you should be able to get some decent shots.

They are DMUs (Diesel Multiple Units). You mist be thinking about their cousins the Class 378s that are EMUs (Electric Multiple Units) that run on the North London Line, Watford DC Lines, the East London Line and West London Line

i noted at Leyton Midland Road, they've installed Line route maps on the platforms and newer destination boards which may signal the end for the old Silverlink ones, they've also installed a newer London Overground Sign Not roundel outside the side entrance on Midland Road,E10.

The platform extensions are now more or less complete and 4-car trains have started running yesterday. I've seen some pics of a new link between the Bakerloo/Watford DC line and NLL at Willesden Junction too, I hope that it'll be a faster way to go between both levels of the station.

Does anyone know the route and stations of the last part of the 'Orbital' London Overground? The Line will branch of at Surrey Canal Road Junction, Where a propsed station will be built if funding is confirmed and then Queens Road Peckham, Peckham Rye, Denmark Hill, Clapham High Street and Wandsworth Road & Clapham Junction. - The route taken is from the Inner South London Line currently operated by Southern.

Thanks TA1 I see there are still no opportunity to build a station at Brixton or Loughborough Junction to interchange with the Victoria Line and Thameslink services. I know they cited the fact that with both stations being on bridges and viaducts, it would be costly but it would open more links up. If not, you have the disused East Brixton Station which could be built as an alternative interchange.
