Hi everybody! I was just on the internet cruising it and I was looking on the central line. Yes I did know about the extension back in the 40's to extend it to Denham. But I didn't know there was a station proposed inbetween West Ruslip and Denham upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/70/Denham_Map_Mockup2.pngMy Question is: Where is Harefield Road???

Look on the A-Z, just north of Uxbridge, you'll see it there. There once was a GWR branch line into Uxbridge, it stopped on an embankment just opposite the 'Crown & Treaty' pub, the long term objective was to join up with the branch from West Drayton to Uxbridge Vine Street. Both the lines are long gone, and no evidence now exists due to redevelopment. there loss was put down to the Met & Piccadilly lines offering a faster and more direct service. When you travel on Chiltern west of West Ruislip, you can still see where this branch ran, it's now a builders yard.

Yes, the never-built Underground extensions are fascinating. Apparently some widening work was done at West Ruislip but little more. Did you know that authority was given for the Camberwell extension of the Bakerloo in 1931, as Elephant was deemed to be an unsuitable terminus and line was up to capacity? So where does the line terminate 77 years later....?
