Here's an interesting observation.
I was walking along Brentwood station this evening, and needed the loo, rather badly. Knowing what it's like with public toilets, i wasn't holding my breath, but thought i'd try and see if brentwood had working toilets. To my shock, they had toilets, but they're only operational between 06.45 and 09.15!!!
It made me think, now we either have no toilets on stations, or we have those that we have to pay for!!!! Why should we pay for the need to get rid of some water!!!!! Stupid if you ask me. Anyone else have any similar situations, or thoughts ;D

when i worked SD, i travelled from becontree to west ham, on the district line, i wanted to use the toilets at becontree station. they were in the waiting room, which was locked shut. then i thought id use the toilets at west ham, when i get of the train, as west ham is a new refurbished station. WRONG, i couldnt even see where the loos are, so i asked a station bloke who said " theres NO public toilets anywhere at this national rail. and local lines ststion"!!!!!!!!!!!! friggin terrible. so i emailed TFL when i got home about the becontree toilets being locked shut, with no explanation to why theyre locked, as the sign near the door says open between blah and blah hours. TFL sent me back an email saying closed due to vandalism, and a new sign would be posted saying thats why the doors locked. next day!! on the same becontree platform, theres a BIG notice saying closed due to vandalism!!! hoo ray...... ;D when i was a teenager, all the waiting rooms and toilets were always open!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and thats on the same district line ststions.
