Thornton Heath's DLA129 was a bit of a state this morning... It needs a lick of paint. Still, it's in better nick than Enfield's DLA197, which I saw heading up the A1055 on a tow-truck... ;D DLA63 makes a loud roar which I've only heard on darts before.

Here's an odd one for you, 17238 was making what sounded like a noise by it's fan belt!! Never ever heard this on a Trident before and sounded very strange

Never ever heard this on a Trident before and sounded very strange John, I finally went on one of the Tridents based near you. I jumped on 17457 on the 247 in Hainault and when changing from first to second gear, it hangs for a couple of seconds, then when changing to third, it changes quicker than normal and revs into third gear. I got a video of it, won't be on youtube though for a few days yet.

Yeah, i know the exact problem you're on about. I believe 17444 has the same problem as did 17114/124/132/5/6/7/154/192/4. Also, did you go to Romford?? If you did, the hill at Hainault used to be brilliant when there was no speed camera ;D

I got the Central Line from Liverpool Street to Hainault, took the 247 to Barkingside, then the Central Line back into London before taking the Piccadilly Line to Heathrow T5.

Shame they put that stupid thing there As a point of reference that particular stretch of road has 3 cameras in the space of a mile (maybe less). One jst after The Maypole, one just after the junction with New North Road and that one on the hill.... Also that little bit of road between the golf course and City Limits used to be good fun (still is if you get a 362 ;D) before they lowered the speed limit. Stagecoach drivers used to shoot along there

Most of these speed cameras aren't even for safety - ok SOME of them are, but the majority are only there to generate revenue for the relevant Council but we won't go into that territory lol

That one on the hill is just plain stupid. However, the one going the other way is placed in a decent position and you can see why it's there.
Also, greeny, i know the stretch you're on about, and if you get the right guy, you'll fly along there lol. There's one NS driver, older with a massive moustache, that drives every route like it's a race lol. When i see him on the 174 i know it's going to be fun ;D

No matter whether he is early or late, he sticks to the speed limits and takes his time at stops as well. Apparently, you can never get any thrash when you're on his bus.
