I just thought of another couple of possible ibus messages. First one is to do with temporary bus stops due to road works.... "THE NEXT BUS STOP HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY RELOCATED" Second one is a message for where a bus cannot properly stop near the curb due to parked vehicles or nearby roadworks.... "PLEASE EXCERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN ALIGHTING AT THIS STOP" You have made some good suggesstions as well as the one you mentioned about the closing doors. This would be useful also for passengers sitting upstairs who have no idea whats going on downstairs. The temporary stop would definately be useful. I think its definately needed on the 3 route at parliment square (towards crystal palace) as the stop has been moved so far back its nowhere near the square. You always get people pressing the bell when the bus is at the square.

They both travel the same way from Parliment Square towards Milbank. Thanks for the compliment by the way. ;D

I sure the 87 does stop where the 3 does in parliment square. The stop next to westminster station is only for buses to westminster bridge (12/53/159/453). Anyway, the temporary stop at parliment square has disappeared with another temporary stop hooded What is going on up there?!

One thing I noticed about the ibus screen is that the BUS STOPPING display doesn't turn off at the same time as the regular version BUS STOPPING lights located elsewhere. It seems to turn off only when the doors are closing. This could mean if a driver closes the doors too soon (ie before it's fully opened) the BUS STOPPING ibus display will remain on, even though the driver's dash light would've turned off.

Once the ibus installation's 100% completed within TfL domain, where will all the newly entered buses get their ibus installed? I assume Clapton and Norwood Garages would've by then returned to normal operation.

I've thought about this whenever I've been checking a bus on the stand as my Passenger displays are ALWAYS showing Bus Stopping, obviously I cannot see if it goes off once I'm in service

The "Bus Stopping" display SHOULD turn off when you put the ignition back on.

As soon as you put the ignition on and the dash lights come up it should reset

Can't ibus reprogram the system (via download) so that it resets once the rear doors are opening? (or front doors for single doored buses)

If a particular route is scheduled for a permenant rerouting, curtailment or extension, will pre-recorded messages be programmed into ibus for drivers to alert punters in advance?
For example, there are plans to reroute the 463 to terminate at Pollards Hill via Mitcham Eastfields. This would mean that Coulsdon bound buses will run in reverse between Rowan Road and Eastfields level crossing. Drivers could then use pre-programmed ibus messages to warn passengers about the change.
