Hi londonbusboy
I think it must be standard practise as when Station Road in Sidcup was closed Northbound, the stops in Station Road, had there white route flags removed but the bus stop pole remained in place. I think they do it because passengers still think buses will stop at the stop cause they dont look and see that theres a yellow cover over it saying "Bus Stop Closed". Ive had someone say whens the next 54, when Beckenham High Street was closed, err yh its in 3 weeks time from this stop ;D, even though there was a big yellow cover over the bus stop.
Thanks Jay

Thanks Jay.
I have another question which could be iBus related.
I was on route 367 today after school and an elderly lady pressed the bell for her stop but the driver drove straight past because my stop was next i went to press the bell but it didnt work so i tried others and they didnt either. So i went to the cab to tell the driver like the elderly lady did and i could see the bus stopping light on the dash wasnt on but the iBus displayed 'BUS STOPPING' i told the driver this and that the bells didnt work so he parkd the bus up with hazards, got out his cab and tested the bells himself he couldnt work out what was wrong. anyway he let us off using the emergency button and when the doors opened the bell of the bus rang. I have no idea what happened after this as i got off but the bus carried on
any ideas?

Sounds like the dash display bulb has gone and the bus is one of those that only allows you to ring the bell once As for passengers not looking at stops, I had one last week who got on my N21 in Lewisham (opposite the Police Station) and said he had been waiting for me for over an hour, resisting the obvious response of you should have got to the stop a bit later then ;D I told him to read the big yellow sign where the timetable should be which he did and said yes BUT I've been waiting for an hour For those that don't know Lewisham High Street is closed therefore certain routes are unable to serve the Rennel Street stop. The 21 is picking up in Molesworth Street and swinging round the roundabout and going back down towards Lewisham Station. And yes I did just shake my head in disbelief

I think the iBus was throwing it out as there could be a wiring issue?

Yes I don't think its an ibus issue. Yes I know all about Lewisham and the complaints that we have received despite all the publicity/bus stop closed signs. I was even down at Lewisham telling people the stops were closed much to their surprise. Thanks Jay. I have another question which could be iBus related. Sounds like the dash display bulb has gone and the bus is one of those that only allows you to ring the bell once I once took a woman 3 stops further than she wanted to go. The dash bell light had packed up (In the middle of a trip cos it WAS working) As I was coming to a bus stop I had a feeling I'd heard the bell ring but wasn't sure so I looked down at the dash and saw no light so i carried on past the stop. I took a quick look in the interior mirror and saw a woman standing by the back doors but thought nothing of it. Coming up on the next stop the same thing happens (for all non bus drivers the sound of the bell is not always clear due to rattling and squeaking and stuff) so i carry on. Only when coming up to the 3rd stop I just happen to be looking at the dash at just the right moment because as the woman pressed the bell again the dash light lit up but when out as soon as she released the button... oops!! But the thing is she didn't say anything, if she had I would have stopped. Usually people go mental at you for the slightest little thing.

hi guys will the new buses for route 10 be 59 reg Yes, but the buses have not been confirmed yet according to this website www.londonbusroutes.net/changes.htm. Omnicity is most likely as Transdev have a huge allocation of them. Im not saying they will use Omnicitys I am just speculating.

SP136-SP164 were ordered a few months ago and will work from Stamford Brook, they are now in UK, (Scania, Hull, or Scania, West London) www.lonutd.co.uk/webfiles/090609_route_10.pdfA further 26 SP165-SP190 have subsequently been ordered for 111 in April
