Sloppy journalism. I heard the same thing on the radio and just ignored it. Lots of curtailments and running in sections but nothing was wholly suspended. Wait until they start b*ggering up the tube network on Wednesday. That's going to end in tears because people will get hurt. It only takes one slip or trip for people to fall down stairs or escalators or fall off platforms or into gaps between trains and platform edges. It is a completely stupid thing to do given a good metro system is part of the public transport answer to dealing with car dependency and pollution. As I mentioned in another thread, while I have my sympathies for climate change and that we need to do more, these guys are just ridiculous (for lack of a stronger word). No better than the flat-earth people / anti-vaccine campaigners these guys are. Should be sent back to the Stone Age! You notice how the supporters of these people continue to not condemn the appalling vandalism and trespassing of the Shell building in London instead merely saying, "well it wasn't us" Whose else was it? The Queen? Harry Kane? Do me a favour please! I dislike the Foxtons in Brixton because of what it stands for in relation to gentrification and the continued removal of decent working class people from the area - it has repeatedly been targeted by people with paint and the windows smashed but I do not condone it, not one bit and it actually made me angry because it then blurs the message that your trying to send out because you get no where with violence and vandalism.

Unfortunately this is one of the downsides of internet connectivity / social media etc. What starts off as reasonable and legitimate concern (whatever the topic) gets hi-jacked and pushed to whatever extreme. Legitimate protest is fine and part of a democracy. Taking ever more disruptive action that just causes chaos is counter productive. I really think mounting direct action on the tube and rail networks is a very stupid thing to do. I worked for a railway for over 25 years. I know what can happen. I suspect the protest organisers do not and those following them like sheep certainly do not.

There were two views I had to hearing protesters would take to the Tube: one where they would be activists at every station or on most Tube services banging drums to get their voice heard. The other scenario was causing blockades underground. The Underground is no place to safely demonstrate. It's no great foresight skills to see how something bad can come from a small incursion. Given the current numbers in the past 48 hours, I genuinely fear for the safety of transport services tomorrow.

I mean there are easier ways to disrupt the tube network right?

The news says that bus routes were cancelled because of th Climate protestors so what were the routes that were cancelled in? Sloppy journalism. Weren't you predicting a loss of life yesterday?

Lumping these people together with flat-earthers and anti-vaxxers isn't right. Climate change protesters are actually campaigning for something worth campaigning for - it's just that they are doing it the wrong way. Flat-earthers and anti-vaxxers are arguing a totally wrong "cause" fed by lies and idiocy.
I have no sympathy with the sort of antics that some of these people are pulling - especially disrupting the tube - but that should not in any way diminish their cause. There are also a lot of climate change campaigners who do not resort to these tactics and who do not deserve to be tarred with the same brush.

I am one of the people severely affected by the so called protesters. I have 2 questions: 1.looking at off to plan my journey, it seems that 13, 30, 113, 189, 274 are running perfectly. On the other hand, 2, 6, 74, 98 and 137 show the curtailments. Why?
2.Why are 2 and 36 curtailed at Victoria and not Hyde Park Corner? Similarly 137 to Sloanne Square? Why is 52 diverted through Sloanne Street and not follow the normal route? These decisions make life more difficult than it needs be.

I think the 2 and 36 are both down to stand space, Victoria has more space than Hyde Park Corner for the two routes. Going to Hyde Park Corner would also result in battling a lot of traffic which would hamper reliability a lot more along the rest of the routes.

Why does it say 'Green Bus' on the side of the P13's MMCs? Are these buses fitted with some special technology or something?
